As a cinephile with a penchant for spotting rising talent, I must say the addition of Ritu Arya and Weruche Opia to Riz Ahmed’s upcoming Amazon Prime Video comedy series is nothing short of exhilarating! Their rich backgrounds in television and film make for an exciting blend that promises to elevate this production to new heights.

Actors Ritu Arya and Weruche Opia will be appearing regularly on Riz Ahmed’s forthcoming comedy series for Amazon Prime Video, according to our exclusive information, Master Eb.

Earlier news stated that Ahmed would be part of an unnamed TV show. The current lineup also features Guz Khan, Sheeba Chaddha, Aasiya Shah, and Sajid Hasan.

Specific details about the characters are being kept secret, but here’s a summary of the official series description: The show centers around “Ahmed as Shah Latif, an actor on the brink of his biggest break, who unexpectedly finds himself grappling with an existential crisis and a mind-bending conspiracy thriller all at once.”

Arya made an appearance during the fourth and concluding season of the widely-acclaimed Netflix series “The Umbrella Academy,” a show she joined in its second installment. Previously, she featured in shows such as “Humans,” “Doctors,” and “Feel Good.” Her latest film roles can be found in “Barbie,” “Polite Society,” and “Red Notice.”

She is represented by several talent agencies, including Artists First, Conway van Gelder Grant, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), Brecheen Feldman Breimer Silver Thompson, and R&C PMK.

Opia is primarily recognized for her performance in the Emmy-winning series “I May Destroy You,” where she was nominated for a BAFTA award. Following this success, she has appeared in various shows such as “Genius: MLK/X”, “The Jetty”, “High Desert”, and “Bad Education”. On the big screen, she has featured in movies like “When Love Happens” and “Slumberland.”

She is repped by Anonymous Content, Curtis Brown, Shelter PR, and Sloane Offer.

Ahmed serves as the writer, star, and joint head of the show, while Ben Karlin is the other co-showrunner and executive producer. Ahmed, together with Allie Moore, executive produces the series under their Left Handed production company. Jax Media, along with Amazon MGM Studios, are producing the series, with Jake Fuller serving as executive producer for Jax Media.
