As a seasoned gamer and longtime Nintendo enthusiast, I must admit my heart skipped a beat when I heard about not one but two upcoming presentations from Nintendo. The Indie World Showcase and Direct Partner Showcase are set to take place on August 27th, 2024, and I can hardly contain my excitement!
In just a few weeks since the latest Nintendo Direct event, which showcased the upcoming Nintendo Museum opening this year, Nintendo has scheduled another Direct presentation for August. This time, fans will not only get the main Direct presentation but also an additional one called the Indie World Showcase. Furthermore, before the Partner Presentation, we’ll see a lineup of new and forthcoming indie games destined for the Nintendo Switch console.
In addition to revealing two upcoming presentations, there was another reminder from Nintendo for fans not to harbor unrealistic expectations regarding new Switch console information in either of these presentations. Consequently, enthusiastic players should not anticipate any news or announcements about the next generation of Switch consoles during these events, as confirmed by Nintendo’s statement.
Come and join us on August 27th at 7am Pacific Time for a double bill of exciting events: the #IndieWorld Showcase followed immediately by the #NintendoDirect Partner Showcase! The combined livestream, approximately 40 minutes long, will showcase both presentations one after the other.

Nintendo has revealed via their social media platforms that not just one, but two events are planned for August 2024. Specific dates and times have been provided for these events. This news follows the latest Nintendo Direct presentation about the Nintendo Museum, with the upcoming events being the Indie World and Partner Direct showcases streaming live on their YouTube channel.
The Indie World Showcase will initiate a two-part event commencing on 27th August 2024 at 7 am Pacific Time, 10 am Eastern Time, and 2 pm Coordinated Universal Time. Following the Indie World Showcase, the Direct Partner Showcase is scheduled. Nintendo has confirmed that both events will last for approximately 40 minutes each. Notably, there was no indication during either of these presentations about any upcoming successor to the Nintendo Switch.
Players are buzzing with anticipation online, guessing what gaming news might be unveiled during either presentation. Hollow Knight: Silksong is once again leading social media discussions. Although it’s probable that it will have its own Direct Showcase, there’s a possibility we could get additional sneak peeks of one of Nintendo’s future releases, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, which might be the highlight of the Direct Partner Showcase.
