What ho, old sport! X’s Head of Product, the indefatigable Nikita Bier, has let slip a whisper that might just set the crypto world a-titter. “Crypto has had a rough year,” she trilled, with all the gravitas of a maiden aunt announcing a spot of rain. “Perhaps,” she continued, “X should dash in and fix the blasted thing.”
Crypto has had a rough year. Maybe we should launch something to fix it.

Now, while the chaps at X haven’t yet rolled out the red carpet for any official announcements, the twitterati (or should we say, the X-perts?) were quick to don their thinking caps. Fred Krueger, a fellow of some repute, chimed in with a call for native Bitcoin support, as though X were a butler being asked to fetch the silver. Another bright spark suggested paying creators in USDC stablecoin, a move that would no doubt have the old guard at the club nodding sagely over their port.
Nikita says X is launching something to fix crypto
My guesses:
1: hyperliquid builder code integration (whatever that dashed nonsense means)
2: trade directly from timeline (jolly convenient, what?)
3: payments (revolutionary, I say!)
4: wallet integration (a place for one’s digital loose change)
5: creator revenue in stables (apy?)
6: onchain reputation tied to x (character references gone digital)
7: copy trading (follow the fellow in the top hat)
8: live PnLs (for those who like their losses served fresh)– ryandcrypto (@ryandcrypto) April 14, 2026
These suggestions, my dear reader, are but the tip of the iceberg, or perhaps the cherry atop the crypto sundae. They reflect a growing hunger among X’s crypto-savvy set for features that go beyond the mere mundane.
Smart Cashtags and Whatnot
X, ever the forward-thinking sort, has already dipped its toe into the crypto pool. On February 14 (a day usually reserved for chocolates and sonnets), Bier unveiled Smart Cashtags. This clever contraption allows users to trade stocks and crypto directly from the X timeline, a move that has the whiff of a chap who’s finally remembered where he left his pocket watch.
Rumors, of course, have been swirling like a London fog, suggesting that crypto might waltz its way into the X Money service. But, as with all good gossip, the platform remains tight-lipped, leaving us to speculate like a roomful of aunts at a village tea party.
spoil: this is x money
already announced to be launched this month and imo, it will be some sort of a wallet inside twitter

Adding fuel to the fire, X has recently welcomed Benji Taylor as its new Design Lead. Taylor, a fellow with a background as deep as a country squire’s pockets, previously held court at Aave Labs and Coinbase’s Base network. His arrival has been interpreted as a sure sign that X is poised to embrace crypto with the enthusiasm of a spaniel chasing a stick.
Whether Bier’s musings were a genuine teaser or merely a spot of community banter, the alignment of Smart Cashtags, Taylor’s appointment, and the whispers of X Money suggest that the platform’s crypto ambitions are as robust as a hearty breakfast at the Drones Club. So, keep your monocles polished and your wallets at the ready, old beans-X might just be the white knight crypto’s been waiting for.
