Spider-Man: Brand New Day unveils fresh footage, posters and synopsis at CinemaCon
At CinemaCon 2026, Sony Pictures revealed details about the upcoming Spider-Man movie, “Brand New Day,” including two teaser posters, a sneak peek at some footage, and an official summary of the film’s plot. The studio then shared the posters on X (formerly Twitter), where they quickly gained thousands of views.
The movie picks up four years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Peter Parker is now completely on his own, having made the difficult choice to have everyone forget him. He’s dedicated himself to being Spider-Man full-time and protecting New York City.
Increasing pressure causes a strange and dangerous physical change, putting his life at risk. At the same time, a new wave of crimes reveals a formidable and powerful enemy – the most dangerous he’s ever encountered.
Footage from CinemaCon showed Peter arriving at a party with Ned and being surprised to find Spider-Man research plastered all over the walls. Ned explained he’d built an app, called Spidey-tracker, where people share Spider-Man sightings. According to ScreenRant, Ned identified two main people who could be Spider-Man, one of whom is Flash Thompson.
MJ shows up, and Peter awkwardly introduces himself as “Maynard.” She playfully calls him the friendly neighborhood guy, which makes him cough. MJ explains she turned down a job because she’s holding out for something really special. Then, a man played by Eman Esfandi walks in and kisses MJ, and a clearly bothered Peter walks out.
Tom Holland sent a video message to describe the movie as exciting, enjoyable, and visually impressive, and he also called it the most emotionally resonant Spider-Man film yet. Sony’s CEO, Tom Rothman, highlighted Holland’s performance as his best to date. The movie stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo.
