As a die-hard fan of Silent Hill since its inception, the news about the upcoming remake soundtrack has sent me into a frenzy! The thought of Akira Yamaoka’s remastered tracks and new compositions filling the eerie silence that is synonymous with the series makes my heart race.
Pre-orders for the official soundtrack of the Silent Hill 2 remake are exclusively available in Japan at the moment. Five fortunate buyers who pre-order will receive signed copies directly from Akira Yamaoka! The Japanese-only accessible pre-order page confirms that the soundtrack will be released as a 3-CD set.
Akira Yamaoka personally commented on X/Twitter, mentioning that he has reworked all the original tracks and included fresh new ones for the remake. He stated, “Over the course of 25 years, my musical style has evolved.” He further added, “This project showcases this development.”
I’ve reworked all the classic tunes and included some fresh ones too. Over the course of 25 years, my musical style has matured significantly. This project showcases that growth, seamlessly merging old flames with contemporary beats, pushing me harder than ever before.

In the remake, Bloober Team and Konami have made numerous improvements and enhancements to the survival horror game’s soundtrack. Although James Sunderland’s story and most of the game’s main plot points are expected to remain faithful to the original version, there are several modernizations such as updated graphics, revamped character models, and a completely fresh soundtrack included in this remake.
Fans were treated to one track on the soundtrack, a remastered rendition of the well-known “Promise” from the initial game, during the trailer for Silent Hill 2’s release date. However, the entire soundtrack is yet to be released, so fans will have to exercise patience and wait a while longer before they can enjoy it in its entirety.
Currently, no information has been given about the release date of the official soundtrack for the Silent Hill 2 remake in regions like EU and NA. The game itself, developed by Bloober Team and Konami, is scheduled to launch worldwide in early October 2024, perfect for Halloween. It’s speculated that pre-orders for the soundtrack may become available before the game’s release, but it might also happen simultaneously when the game goes live.
