A League of Legends coach is getting a lot of attention online for an unusual strategy: tracking his teammate’s menstrual cycle to try and boost their chances of winning. He’s shared detailed data and predictions based on months of playing together, claiming there’s a connection between the cycle and their performance.
A recent analysis of 147 ranked games suggests a player’s performance – specifically their win rate and damage output – may be affected by their menstrual cycle.
Some people are unsure if the online discussion is genuine or a hoax, but it’s rapidly gaining attention on social media, already reaching over 5 million views.
Tony Chau, known online as @SaskioLoL, shared a strategy for winning more often in League of Legends when playing with a partner, based on analyzing game data.
LoL coach tracks duo partner’s menstrual cycle
According to a recent post on X, one player discovered a potential link between their teammate’s menstrual cycle and their win rate in a game. They reported a 55.1% win rate overall when playing with a friend, but this dropped to 52% during her period and increased to 57.5% when she wasn’t.
As a fan, I’ve been following Chau, and she’s noticed something really interesting! She says her win rate goes up by about five percent when she’s not on her period. It’s not just a one-time thing either – it happens consistently, which she thinks is way too much to be random chance.
He also found a noticeable change in how aggressively the character plays. According to his data, her aggression level jumps to 8.6 out of 10, measured by damage and kills, when she’s in her ‘period’ (likely a game-specific event). He explains this means when this happens, he plays the character Tristana very aggressively, constantly jumping into battles, and mirroring her actions—if she initiates a quick move, he does too.
Keeping track of when your teammates (duos) are at their best can actually help you win more games. I’ve been collecting data for 147 games and have seen a positive impact. My friend, Yuulu, recently noticed the data I’ve been gathering on her performance, and her win rate with me is currently 55.1%. This all relates to tracking performance cycles…

He notes that her fighting style shifts dramatically when she’s not actively in battle. When she’s ‘off cooldown,’ she becomes much more cautious, with her aggression decreasing to 4.85. She plays more strategically, and because she dies less often, her kill/death/assist ratio improves.
When the enemy support has used her ultimate ability, I choose the champion Vayne. I focus on dodging attacks and looking for the best moments to engage in fights. We play a careful lane, prioritizing collecting resources until the late game, when we become very strong.
No one has independently verified this information – it all comes from a single player’s statements – but the discussion has still spread rapidly online. Players are divided, with some skeptical and others intrigued by what might be one of the strangest strategy conversations the game community has ever had.
