Apple TV‘s stellar crime series is back on top of streaming charts.
A crime show on the streaming service, drawing inspiration from hits like Breaking Bad and Ozark, has quickly become the most popular show on the platform. Apple TV+ offers a diverse range of original series, including ambitious science fiction like For All Mankind and realistic mystery dramas such as Slow Horses.
The streaming service also features several crime dramas that explore the motivations of criminals, much like shows such as Breaking Bad and Ozarks. A recent example is the limited series Smoke, which centered on an arson investigator who secretly committed arson himself. Now, another show with a similar premise has become a worldwide hit.
Apple TV+’s show, Your Friends & Neighbors, has become a top hit on the streaming service since its recent return. The show, starting in 2025, stars Jon Hamm as Coop, a man who resorts to robbing his wealthy neighbors to fund his lifestyle after losing his job as a hedge fund manager. Season 2 of Your Friends & Neighbors premiered on April 3rd.
According to FlixPatrol, the new Apple TV show Your Friends & Neighbors has quickly become a global hit. After its first two episodes aired, it reached the number one spot in 68 countries worldwide – including the US, Canada, and the UK – as of April 13, 2026.
The show is currently performing better than other popular ongoing series on the platform. Season 2 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is now in second place, and season 5 of For All Mankind is fourth. Its success is due to both a recent return and positive reviews – season 2 of Your Friends & Neighbors has an 88% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The show Your Friends & Neighbors just got more interesting with the addition of James Marsden as Owen Ashe, a wealthy newcomer looking to invest in the area. His arrival will likely create conflict with Coop, as Owen uncovers Coop’s shady dealings and gets drawn into the main storyline.
“Your Friends & Neighbors” feels like other crime dramas, but it concentrates specifically on robberies and money laundering, rather than typical crimes like drug trafficking or murder. This narrow focus sets it apart from other shows in the genre, while still maintaining a comfortable, familiar feel.
It’s easy to see why this crime series is a hit for Apple TV+. The streaming service is clearly committed to the show – they announced season 3 before season 2 even aired! This long-term investment is already proving to be very successful.
With eight episodes still to come, released one each Friday, “Your Friends & Neighbors” looks set to remain a top show on Apple TV for a while. It’s already become a huge success after just two episodes, and it’s hard to say how popular it will become in the coming weeks and potentially, future seasons.
