Pokemon TCG vendor stunned by kid’s binder worth tens of thousands

A Pokemon card seller was amazed when a young collector revealed a binder full of incredibly rare cards, some dating back before the collector was even born. The cards were collectively worth thousands of dollars.

A video from HLD Cards & Collectibles quickly went viral, showing a card dealer looking increasingly shocked as they flipped through a collector’s binder. Each page revealed valuable, highly sought-after cards – the kind many collectors dream of finding.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when the vendor opened my binder! They practically did a double-take the second they saw my Gold Star Charizard. It was a pretty amazing reaction, honestly!

A single card released in the 2006 Dragon Frontiers set can be incredibly valuable. Depending on its condition and if professionally graded by companies like PSA or Beckett, it could be worth between $1,000 and over $10,000.

“This is the best binder I’ve ever seen,” the seller exclaimed, not even finishing their sentence.

This collection, gathered over eleven years, included highly valuable Gold Star and Shining cards, as well as rare promotional items. The seller even mentioned that a single card within the collection could be worth more than everything else he had on display.

“I am blown away,” he added, repeatedly stopping to call others over to take a look at the binder.

The person who created the binder responded to comments on the YouTube video and provided additional details.

They started collecting Pokémon cards before the hobby became hugely popular and prices skyrocketed. The collector also shared a personal story, explaining, “I’m a two-time cancer survivor and have limited vision, so these cards have been a source of comfort during difficult times.”

They described their binder as having grown with them over time, noting that they’re now an engineering student and feeling successful for the first time in a long time.

Pokémon trading cards have become incredibly popular, especially since the release of the Sword and Shield sets. This has caused prices for cards – both old and new – to skyrocket.
