Paris Jackson has voiced her disapproval of the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, describing it as inaccurate and more of a fictionalized story than a true portrayal of her father’s life.
The movie ‘Michael’, a biopic about Michael Jackson, will be released on April 24, 2026. Jaafar Jackson, Michael’s nephew, will portray him in the film.
Antoine Fuqua, the director of ‘Training Day,’ helms this film, working from a screenplay by John Logan, who wrote ‘Gladiator.’ The Jackson family and estate have also collaborated on the movie’s creation.
Michael’s daughter, Paris, expressed concerns about the project during its creation and has recently become more vocal in her criticism just before the movie comes out.
Why Paris Jackson wants nothing to do with Michael biopic
The initial trailer for the upcoming Michael Jackson movie is out, and it stars his nephew as the iconic singer. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on April 24, 2026.

In a video statement, Paris Jackson explained she’s remained quiet about the Michael Jackson biopic because she anticipates many fans will enjoy it.
This movie caters to a particular group of my dad’s fans who are still deeply invested in the world it creates, and they’ll likely enjoy it.
Biographical movies often take a lot of liberties with the truth. It’s Hollywood, after all – it’s about creating a story, not necessarily sticking to facts. They present a polished, controlled version of events, and often contain inaccuracies or outright lies. I’m not comfortable with that kind of dishonesty, so I raised my concerns. When they weren’t addressed, I decided to disengage from the project.

Despite her issues with the film, Paris Jackson still encourages fans to see it, saying: “You’re going to love the movie, so just go and enjoy it, and don’t involve me.”
She explained her feelings, noting that many people assume she dislikes or is angry with her father, and doesn’t want to be involved with the film. She feels powerless as a producer because the movie contains so many inaccuracies.
I simply don’t see things that way, and I value honesty more than making a profit. I’d rather not be involved in anything like that.
Michael hits US screens on April 24, 2026, while here’s more movies out this month.
