Avengers: Doomsday Is Confirmed to Include 12 Characters Stronger Than Steve Rogers

While Chris Evans is reprising his role as Steve Rogers in Avengers: Doomsday, the film will feature at least a dozen characters who surpass his strength. Throughout his time as Captain America, Steve Rogers consistently demonstrated that he was among the most powerful of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

I’m still amazed by everything Steve Rogers has accomplished as Captain America! It’s incredible to think about him physically holding back a helicopter, and even more so, going toe-to-toe with Thanos and actually matching his strength during that battle in Wakanda. Of course, I can’t forget that elevator fight – taking down so many HYDRA agents all by himself was just legendary!

Steve has delivered many memorable scenes in the series, and fans are eagerly anticipating his role in Avengers: Doomsday. He’ll face several powerful enemies during the movie, but he’ll also have some very capable allies to help him.

All 12 Avengers: Doomsday Characters Who Are Stronger Than Steve Rogers

Shuri

Without the Black Panther suit, Shuri isn’t as powerful as Steve Rogers, the former Captain America. However, with the suit, she’s his equal – and might even have the edge. The suit’s advanced technology gives the wearer – currently Shuri – incredible strength, speed, and reflexes.

Shuri is a certified genius, and when you combine that with the powers her suit gives her, she’s actually more formidable than Steve. However, despite being very powerful, she’s still not the strongest character we’ll see in the movie.

Ant-Man

Though Ant-Man might appear outmatched against a powerful fighter like Captain America, he consistently surprises opponents with his unique abilities. By using Pym Particles, Scott Lang can change his size, shrinking or growing at will. This gives him a significant advantage in a fight, potentially even against someone as skilled as Steve Rogers.

As demonstrated in movies like Captain America: Civil War, Ant-Man and The Wasp, and Avengers: Endgame, Ant-Man has the ability to grow to enormous sizes. Importantly, his strength increases along with his size.

The main problem with Ant-Man becoming more powerful is that he tires out quickly. If Captain America can avoid Ant-Man’s attacks long enough, he could win once Scott runs out of energy.

Gambit

I’m so excited to hear Channing Tatum is bringing Gambit back for Avengers: Doomsday! It’s incredible to think that we’ll finally see Gambit fighting alongside the Avengers – it’s a first for the big screen! He’s such a powerful mutant, with amazing strength, speed, and reflexes – he’s practically unstoppable, and I can’t wait to see him in action with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

I’m completely captivated by this character! He’s not just strong, he’s a true martial arts master, especially with a staff – he can take down enemies in so many creative ways. But what really sets him apart is his ability to control kinetic energy. He can actually manipulate how things move, giving him an incredible advantage in any fight. It’s a really amazing power!

Gambit is actually a very powerful character within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and many fans are excited about the possibility of seeing the full extent of his abilities in a future project like Doomsday. He’s significantly stronger than Steve Rogers, though several other heroes are even more powerful.

Cyclops

Similar to Gambit, James Marsden’s Cyclops is a very powerful mutant. While he isn’t physically as strong as characters like Steve Rogers or Gambit, his optic blasts are more powerful than either of theirs.

Cyclops has the incredible ability to shoot a tremendously powerful energy beam from his eyes. Unfortunately, he can’t control it, which is why he always wears his visor. No matter how hard Steve Rogers, Ant-Man, Shuri, or Gambit tried, they wouldn’t be able to stop the blast. It would be fascinating to see if the Black Panther suit, which can absorb and redirect energy, could withstand it.

The Invisible Woman

Sue Storm, also known as the Invisible Woman, gained her abilities when exposed to cosmic radiation. This radiation gave her the power to control electromagnetic fields, letting her become invisible, hide other things from sight, and create shields for protection.

As demonstrated in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Sue Storm, also known as the Invisible Woman, can project force fields to attack opponents or damage things. Similar to Shuri, Sue is also remarkably intelligent.

Sue’s ability to control electromagnetism gives her a power level that surpasses Captain America. She’s even faced off against Galactus, who is among the most powerful entities in existence.

The Thing

Ben Grimm, also known as the Thing, gained his superpowers during a space mission when he was hit with cosmic radiation. Unlike his teammates, he couldn’t control his transformation, leaving him permanently covered in rocky, stone-like skin.

The Thing is significantly stronger than Captain America in terms of pure strength. He’s demonstrated incredible feats like pulling a huge ship and lifting a car with just one hand, even breaking through concrete pillars. Plus, The Thing is far more durable than Captain America or anyone else we’ve discussed, thanks to his rocky body which can absorb a tremendous amount of impact.

Magneto

Magneto is incredibly powerful, consistently ranked among Marvel’s strongest characters. While many believe he simply controls metal, his powers are actually far more extensive. He manipulates electromagnetic fields at a fundamental, atomic level.

Magneto has incredible control over magnetism, allowing him to do things like fly, generate protective force fields, and unleash powerful electromagnetic pulses. He’s considered an Omega-level Mutant, which means he’s among the most powerful and dangerous beings on Earth.

Magneto is far too powerful for Steve Rogers, and for anyone else on this list, really. Because Magneto can control metal – and since all living things contain metal in their blood – he has a way to easily overcome almost any opponent.

Loki

Loki is undeniably a powerful god. He was already incredibly strong before his Disney+ show, but now he’s even more so – he’s essentially in control of the entire Multiverse. Rumors about the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie suggest he’ll be a key focus, with both Doctor Doom and the Avengers racing to find him.

Loki is definitively more powerful than Captain America in all respects. While Captain America might be able to hold his own in a fight, it would be incredibly difficult. Now that Loki has become the God of Stories, he’s beyond the reach of Captain America and almost all other heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Professor X

Though Professor X uses a wheelchair, his true power comes from his mind. He’s considered to have the strongest brain on Earth and is incredibly skilled at reading and controlling thoughts – a telepath of the highest order.

Professor X has incredible mental abilities. He can create illusions using his thoughts, control or even take over other people’s minds, project his consciousness outside of his body, and because he understands all languages, communicate with anyone.

Professor X could be the most powerful character in Avengers: Doomsday.

Sentry

Sentry is Marvel’s equivalent to Superman. The standard version of the character is incredibly powerful, surpassing almost everyone else in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that’s before he even reaches his full potential.

As seen in Thunderbolts, the hero Sentry has a dangerous alternate personality known as the Void. The Void completely consumes anything it encounters, trapping those consumed within a prison constructed from their most painful memories.

I’m really worried about the new Avengers: Doomsday movie! If Doctor Doom actually unleashes the Void, it could be absolutely devastating for the Avengers – it feels like a huge threat to everything they’re fighting for, and honestly, to the whole planet!

Thor

As a huge fan, it’s amazing to remember just how powerful Thor is! Being a literal god gives him incredible strength, speed, and stamina – basically, he’s superhuman in every way. Remember in Avengers: Infinity War when he was actually going toe-to-toe with Thanos and even seemed like he was winning? If Thanos hadn’t snapped his fingers, I really think Thor could have taken him down!

Thor is as strong as characters like Magneto, Professor X, and Sentry. It’s hard to say who is more powerful among them, because their abilities are so immense and difficult for humans to fully understand.

Doctor Doom

Marvel hasn’t shared details about Doctor Doom’s powers in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie. But, given that he’s expected to be the MCU’s biggest villain yet, many fans predict we’ll see a version of him similar to ‘God Doom’ – particularly if he gains control of the Multiverse, perhaps by capturing Loki.

If this happens, Doom will gain control over time, being able to alter timelines and use powerful magic. He would become the strongest being the Marvel Cinematic Universe has ever seen.

Steve Rogers is no match for Doctor Doom when it comes to strength and power; the difference between them is enormous.
