As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of RPGs that promise to take me on a magical journey. However, after watching the ‘Travel Beyond Fantasy’ trailer for Metaphor: ReFantazio, I have to say, it looks like Atlus has outdone themselves this time. The stunning visuals and captivating storyline are reminiscent of classic RPGs that I grew up playing.
At the conclusion of Gamescom 2024, Atlus unveiled a fresh trailer titled “Journey Beyond Fantasy” for the game Metaphor: ReFantazio. This preview offers a glimpse into both storyline and gameplay moments as the main character seeks to claim the vacant throne.
Furthermore, during the Xbox Day 3 Gamescom live broadcast, Studio Zero’s director Katsura Hashino appeared in a pre-recorded segment to discuss the forthcoming RPG. English actors Stewart Clarke and Kristin Atherton (voicing Strohl and Hulkenberg respectively) also participated in the stream by sharing their experiences recording their characters.

On October 11th, Fantazio takes flight across various platforms including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, all at once globally. Atlus has shared information about the English voice actors involved in the game.

During the broadcast, a previously recorded message from Studio Zero’s director Katsura Hashino was played, where he welcomed viewers and unveiled the fresh trailer for “Metaphor: ReFantazio” titled “Travel Beyond Fantasy”, emphasizing the Royal Tournament adventure. This trailer showcased the main character embarking on a vast journey, seeking approval from the citizens of the United Kingdom of Euchronia to secure their votes as the next king and claim the throne.
During the Xbox Gamescom livestream, there was an insightful conversation with Stewart Clarke and Kristin Atherton, who lend their voices to main characters Strohl and Hulkenberg in the English version of the game. They talked about their roles, how they prepared for their performances, and shared their experiences exploring the mystical, medieval setting of the game “Metaphor: ReFantazio”.
