As someone who has spent countless hours immersed in the comedic masterpieces of Mike Schur, I am beyond excited for the premiere of “A Man on the Inside.” Having followed Schur’s career since his days on “The Office” and “Saturday Night Live,” it’s a joy to see him reuniting with the brilliant Ted Danson. The cast is stacked with talented actors like Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Stephanie Beatriz, and many more, promising a show that will surely have us laughing till our sides ache.
Netflix unveiled the initial glimpses from the forthcoming comedy show “A Man on the Inside,” featuring Ted Danson in the lead role.
The upcoming half-hour TV series, titled as such due to its 30-minute runtime, is being brought to you by creator Mike Schur. This talented individual is joining forces once more with Danson, following their previous collaboration on “The Good Place.” Inspired by the 2021 documentary film “The Mole Agent,” this series has been greenlit by Netflix for production in 2023. The premiere date is set for November, but as of now, the specific airing date remains unannounced.
“Charles (Danson), who has retired, finds a fresh start when he replies to an advertisement for a private investigator and starts working undercover as part of a covert probe.”
As a movie enthusiast, I’m excited to share that alongside Danson, the stellar cast comprises Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Stephanie Beatriz, Lilah Richcreek Estrada, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Sally Struthers, Margaret Avery, John Getz, Susan Ruttan, Lori Tan Chinn, Clyde Kusatsu, Marc Evan Jackson, Jama Williamson, Wyatt Yang, Deuce Basco, Lincoln Lambert, and Kerry O’Malley. Each one brings their unique charm to the screen!
Under his production company Fremulon, Schur will serve as executive producer. Joining him are Morgan Sackett, David Miner from 3 Arts Entertainment, Maite Alberdi and Marcela Santibañez of Micromundo Producciones, as well as Julie Goldman and Christopher Clements from Motto Pictures. Universal Television, where Schur has an overall deal, will handle the production.
Beyond developing “The Good Place,” Michael Schur has also jointly produced hit comedies such as “Parks and Recreation,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” and “Rutherford Falls.” He also spent significant time on “The Office” and “Saturday Night Live” in the early stages of his career. Furthermore, he serves as an executive producer for the critically acclaimed HBO Max comedy series “Hacks.”
