According to our sources, the creators of “BoJack Horseman” are coming together again to produce a brand-new adult animated series for Netflix.

Raphael Bob-Waksberg, along with Michael Eisner’s Tornante Company and animation studio ShadowMachine, have reunited to create a new series titled “Long Story Short.” This announcement was made on the 10th anniversary of the debut of “BoJack” on Netflix.

“Bob-Waksberg expressed great joy and pride in returning to his favorite task – crafting captivating pull quotes for press releases destined for Hollywood trade journals. It seems one can indeed return home!”

2025 marks the premiere of “Long Story Short,” a show that delves into the intricacies of family relationships over time. It explores shared memories, private humor, healing old hurts – experiences that resonate deeply if you’ve ever been part of a family, whether it be as a parent, child, sibling, or partner. So, if this sounds like your story, don’t forget to tune in and by the way, wouldn’t it be nice if we could all be more affectionate with our loved ones?

In this animated series, Bob-Waksberg takes on multiple roles including the writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Noel Bright and Steven A. Cohen will be fellow executive producers under Tornante Television. Lisa Hanawalt is responsible for supervising production and creating unique artwork for the series. Meanwhile, Corey Campodonico and Alex Bulkley are co-executive producers. The production company ShadowMachine, based in their LA animation studio, will handle the creation of this show.

After creating “BoJack,” Bob-Waksberg has since collaborated on the Amazon animated series “Undone” as a co-creator, writer, and executive producer. He also held these positions in the animated series “Tuca & Bertie,” which was initially produced by Netflix but later aired its final two seasons on Adult Swim, after being moved from Netflix. This show was created by Hanawalt.

“BoJack Horseman” marked Netflix’s debut in creating an adult-oriented animated series. Over its six seasons on the streaming platform, it amassed a dedicated fanbase and received numerous accolades from critics. Twice, it was nominated for the Emmy Award for exceptional animated program. Will Arnett provided the voice for the main character, while Aaron Paul, Amy Sedaris, Alison Brie, Paul F. Thompkins, and renowned character actress Margo Martindale were among the other voice actors in the series.
