‘The One Show’ Presenter Jermaine Jenas Out at the BBC Amid Reports of ‘Inappropriate Behavior’

As a fan who has followed Jermaine Jenas‘ career from his days on the football field to his successful stint as a BBC presenter, I am genuinely saddened by this turn of events. Jermaine, a former professional footballer who represented some of the biggest clubs in England and even played for the national team, was not only a skilled analyst but also brought a unique energy and charisma to his presenting roles on “The One Show” and “Match of the Day.”

“The One Show” and “Match of the Day” presenter Jermaine Jenas is no longer employed by the BBC.

“A spokesperson for the BBC confirmed that he is no longer part of our current team lineup following news reports in The Sun about his dismissal. While The Sun mentioned ‘inappropriate behavior’ as the reason, the BBC hasn’t disclosed a specific cause. According to BBC News, his termination was due to ‘workplace conduct issues,’ and it happened after some complaints were made several weeks ago. It seems that Jenas has also been taken off the roster of his agency, MC Saatchi.”

As a longtime fan of football and a keen observer of the sport’s personalities, I find myself deeply impressed by the career trajectory of the 41-year-old former professional footballer. Having graced the pitch for esteemed club teams like Newcastle United and Tottenham, as well as representing England’s national team, his on-field accomplishments are undeniable. However, it is his post-retirement journey that truly captivates me.

Following renewed criticism towards the broadcaster, Jeanas was let go. This came after Huw Edwards, a former host, admitted to three counts of creating inappropriate child images last month. It later emerged that Edwards continued working for the BBC following his November 2023 arrest and still received a substantial income. The BBC has since announced its intention to recover the earnings Edwards received during this period.

“In a statement, the BBC’s management expressed that Mr. Edwards admitted to a shocking act of wrongdoing. Had he honestly disclosed his arrest to us, the BBC, we wouldn’t have gone on to fund him with public resources.”
