Nintendo Ending Support For Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, Will Release Offline-Only Version

As a dedicated Animal Crossing fan who has spent countless hours decorating virtual campsites and collecting fish and bugs since the days of the GameCube, this news about Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp shutting down is bittersweet. On one hand, I’m grateful for the memories made and the joy it brought me during those long commutes or late-night study breaks. But on the other hand, saying goodbye to my virtual friends and their quirky personalities is going to be tough.

In approximately seven years since its debut, Nintendo’s free mobile adaptation of Animal Crossing titled Pocket Camp is set to close down operationally on November 29th, 2024. However, players can still carry forward their progress by purchasing a standalone offline version of the game, which will not require any further payments.

As a devoted fan, I couldn’t help but share the news from Nintendo today – they’ve announced that the beloved Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will be wrapping up in about three months. In their heartfelt message to us players, they expressed their sincere appreciation for the support we’ve given since the game first began. Even though the end is near, they plan on hosting events and adding new items until the service officially ends.

Instead of some multiplayer games that were shut down recently, Nintendo offers players the chance to move their game progress to a standalone, offline version of the application. However, this updated version necessitates a one-time payment for access.

As a long-time fan of the Animal Crossing series and someone who has spent countless hours catching fish, digging up fossils, and decorating my virtual homes, I’m excited to share some big news with you all about the Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp app. If you’re like me and can’t get enough of this charming game, be sure to check out the details on the provided page for an important announcement that will surely make your day (or at least, your in-game life!). Trust me, it’s worth a look!

As a gamer, I can share that the gameplay and controls for this new title are going to mirror Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. Unlike its predecessor, there won’t be any in-app purchases or subscription services like the Pocket Camp Club. What sets it apart is that you won’t need a constant internet connection, which means some features that require one, such as Market Boxes, gifts, and visiting other players’ campsites, won’t be accessible.

1. After October 28th, players won’t be able to subscribe to any of the game offered by Nintendo, which they refer to as the start of maintenance period. Furthermore, Leaf Tickets will no longer be valid and cannot be moved over to the offline version of the game, so remember to use them before November 28th.

Nintendo provides instructions for moving your saved game data for both iOS and Android users, with further details about their upcoming paid app set to be revealed in October.
