As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for nostalgia and a penchant for turn-based RPGs, I can hardly contain my excitement about Beyond Galaxyland! The game’s 80s sci-fi vibe, reminiscent of classic movies, and the blend of platforming, puzzle solving, and combat, all set in the diverse planets of Galaxyland, has me hooked.
On September 24th, Sam Enright and United Label are set to launch the 2.5D turn-based RPG titled “Beyond Galaxyland.” This exciting game will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
A fresh trailer for the upcoming game reveals that players will navigate the game from a side-scrolling viewpoint. The story unfolds as we see things through the eyes of Doug, a teenager who was suddenly whisked away to Galaxyland just before Earth was devoured by “The End”, an apocalyptic world destroyer. Baffled about what happened to his home planet, Doug sets off on an exploratory voyage across different planets in search of a way back to Earth.
On Doug’s journey, you’ll encounter and make friends with a team of experts. During the adventure, engage in strategic, round-by-round fights. Pay close attention to your enemies to discover their key traits, especially their vulnerabilities. Additionally, you can seize certain creatures to call them forth for future conflicts.

At the Future Games Show event during gamescom, United Label, the creative hub for CI Games’ captivating video games, revealed that the 2.5D adventure-RPG game, Beyond Galaxyland, is set to debut on September 24th. This title, developed by Sam ‘EnrightBeats’ Enright from Chicago, a game developer and music producer, is an ode to the iconic sci-fi films of the 1980s and the timeless turn-based RPGs of the 1990s. It will be playable on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
In the vastness of the cosmos, the story unfolds around Doug, an ordinary high school student, who is abruptly transported to Galaxyland – a seemingly perfect collection of planets resembling a zoo. This sudden transfer occurs just as Earth faces impending destruction at the hands of a destructive entity called ‘The End’, a celestial being of doom. As Doug embarks on a journey through various interplanetary locations, he encounters a vibrant assortment of planets and landscapes – from neon-illuminated cities, a high-tech casino, to desolate deserts nestled within the remains of starships. Alongside an eclectic group of allies, Doug strives to unravel Galaxyland’s mysteries and find a way to reverse Earth’s catastrophic end.
In Galaxyland, the traditional role-playing game (RPG) is given a fresh, modern twist. It blends retro gaming elements with a space-infused mix of platforming challenges, puzzle-solving, an immersive turn-based battle system, dramatic boss encounters, and a unique summoning mechanic that empowers Doug to utilize the creatures he fights later in his battles.
