Survival Action Atomfall Launches March 2025

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the upcoming release of Atomfall has piqued my interest immensely. The fusion of historical events and science-fiction elements is something I’ve always found intriguing, and the 1950s setting coupled with a post-apocalyptic quarantine zone seems like a recipe for an engaging narrative.

The single-player survival action game titled Atomfall, developed by Rebellion (known for Sniper Elite and Zombie Army), is set to launch in March 2025. During their presentation at Xbox @ Gamescom Livestream, they also showcased a fresh new trailer for the game.

The fresh trailer adopts a 1950s newsreel aesthetic, incorporating references to authentic historical occurrences, hinting that the game is inspired by the true events of the Windscale disaster in 1957. Although it’s grounded in these real happenings, the story unfolds within a once idyllic, but now decaying, fictional quarantine area filled with military camps, abandoned bunkers, and ancient Pagan ruins amidst the sprawling wilderness.

Explorers will count on their dependable metal detectors to uncover hidden treasures beneath the ground. However, they won’t venture alone; they’ll encounter a variety of peculiar characters and enigmatic groups residing within the isolation zone. These inhabitants have been separated from the world outside for years, living independently, and are far from ordinary, as developers describe them.

In addition, you’ll find yourself involved in confrontations to stay alive, because, as the developers point out, not every survivor is kind-hearted. This means that learning how to use different kinds of weapons will be crucial for your survival against those who aren’t friendly.
