Civilization 7 Features Another Game Of Thrones Veteran As In-Game Narrator

As a devoted fan with a penchant for strategy games and epic storytelling, I am absolutely thrilled about the addition of Gwendoline Christie as the narrator for Civilization VII! Her rich background in Game of Thrones and Star Wars has already proven her ability to bring depth and emotion to her roles, and I can’t wait to hear her captivating voice guide me through the intricacies of building my own civilization.

The narrator for Civilization VII has been unveiled, and it’s none other than the talented actress Gwendoline Christie, who is well-known for her roles in Game of Thrones and Star Wars. Christie joins the list of Game of Thrones actors lending their voice to a Civilization game, following Sean Bean from Civilization VI.

Christie invites you in the trailer to envision a new era for civilization and create something that resonates with your values, she explains. Similarly, Leonard Nimoy was also part of the Civilization series in one of its previous installments, Civilization IV.

Christie might be most recognized for her roles as Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones and Captain Phasma in the Star Wars franchise. In 2025, she will be part of the cast for Severance’s second season on Apple TV.

In February 2025, Civilization VII will be released on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. This game introduces a fresh Ages system, dividing the gameplay into three distinct periods, each with unique civilizations, resources, and gaming mechanics to explore. By achieving milestones within each Age, you’ll gain an edge for the next period. As you advance to new eras, you can pick new civilizations based on your past achievements, and for the first time in the series, you can select your leader independently from your chosen civilization. As usual, you’ll still pick a leader, but this is a new twist in the game’s history.

As a gamer, I can’t wait to dive into the action with the fresh Ages system! It offers two exciting modes: embark on multi-era campaigns for an immersive experience, or challenge rivals in a single Age for quick, intense battles. And here’s the best part – whether I’m playing on PC or console, I can go head-to-head with friends without any hassle thanks to cross-play support!
