Forza Horizon 5 Adding Hide-And-Seek Mode

As a seasoned gamer with years of multiplayer gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that Forza Horizon 5‘s new Hide & Seek mode is right up my alley! The thrill of the chase and the suspense of being hunted has always been a favorite gameplay dynamic for me.

At Gamescom, Microsoft introduced a novel multiplayer feature for Forza Horizon 5 titled “Hide & Seek,” which, as the name suggests, is essentially a game of hide-and-seek in the virtual racing world.

In this novel gameplay, referred to as the ‘Hide & Seek’ mode, the ‘Hider’ must reach a designated spot before time runs out, while the ‘Seekers’ attempt to thwart their efforts. Both teams have a selection of standard vehicles at their disposal. Furthermore, the Hide & Seek mode features a unique advancement system where players can progress and acquire badges, achievements, and additional rewards by moving through specific stages.

The Hider can choose from these vehicles:

  • 2012 Jeep Wrangler
  • 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor
  • 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2
  • 2018 Mercedes X Class

The Seekers can choose from these vehicles:

  • 2016 BMW M4 GTS
  • 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
  • 2011 Mercedes SLS AMG
  • 2015 Audi RS6
  • 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X GSR
  • 2021 Ford Bronco

The game consists of two rounds, each lasting four minutes. During Round 1, the Hider hides while the Searchers attempt to locate them, with the goal of charging their “Detectometer.” In Round 2, a random Safe Zone is revealed on the map. From thereon, the Searchers must find the Hider within the remaining four minutes before they reach the Safe Zone.

In the game’s Hide & Seek setting, players will discover unique power-ups. The ones searching, or Seekers, possess radar that guides them towards the Hider’s general area. As they draw near, they can activate a “Ping” function to reveal the exact position of the Hider on the map; however, this feature lasts only for 20 seconds.

In the meantime, The Hider possesses a skill named “Chase Breaker”. This skill enables players to interfere with the Seekers’ radar and ping for a duration of 20 seconds. Activating the “Chase Breaker” ability makes The Hider’s vehicle undetectable by Seekers, allowing it to pass through any destructible objects within the game.

On September 10th, we will debut Hide & Seek. Once it’s live, players can explore a fresh spot on the map to find it, or they can dive right in via the Online tab in Forza Horizon 5’s primary menu.

You can visit the Forza website to learn more about the Hide & Seek mode.
