What is Dying Light The Beast? Trailer, release date, and platforms

As a seasoned survivor of the post-apocalyptic world, I can’t help but feel a surge of adrenaline upon hearing about Kyle Crane’s return in Dying Light: The Beast! After witnessing his harrowing transformation into a Volatile in Dying Light 1’s Following DLC, it’s heartening to know he’s back and ready to face the challenges of a new game area, and even ride in style with a new vehicle.

I’m thrilled to be back, fans! In an exciting new chapter set within the Dying Light universe, it’s me, Kyle Crane, stepping into the spotlight once again. This time around, I’ll be exploring fresh terrain and getting behind the wheel of some cool new vehicles. Can’t wait for you all to join me on this adrenaline-fueled adventure!

At Gamescom Opening Night Live, enthusiasts of Mr. Handsome Parkour Guy can take delight because he’s set to return (and make an appearance, it seems, in a location reminiscent of Prague), implying that despite the grim turn of events in the Following DLC for Dying Light 1, where he underwent his metamorphosis into a Volatile, he managed to survive.

Speaking about the release platforms, the game titled Dying Light: The Beast is set to arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, as well as PC via Steam.

Regarding Dying Light: The Beast, it’s important to note that if you own the Dying Light 2 Ultimate Edition, this expansion will be complimentary for you. So there’s no need to fret if you fall under this category. However, at present, we don’t have an exact date for when Dying Light: The Beast will launch, but a rough estimate suggests it might arrive sometime in 2025.

In keeping with the tradition set by previous Dying Light expansions, this DLC introduces a brand new vehicle – a powerful looking 4×4 – replacing the rugged buggy from The Following. I’m hoping that Dying Light: The Beast will offer vehicle customization and skill trees similar to The Following, as I was pleasantly surprised by the integration of vehicles in a game primarily focused on parkour when I was younger, and I look forward to being surprised again. Additionally, I’d like to see a more integrated Volatile transformation for Kyle, as one aspect of Dying Light 2 that left me wanting was Aiden only transforming in specific game sections, rather than allowing me to unleash on some virals whenever I choose.

Initially conceived as an expansion pack for Dying Light 2, Dying Light: The Beast has since evolved into a full-fledged standalone game. This transformation occurred because the project’s scale and ambition grew significantly larger than initially anticipated, making it an exciting prospect on its own.
