Silent Hill f quickly became a hit, selling over a million copies globally in less than a week. This makes it one of the most successful launches ever for a game in the popular survival horror series.
Silent Hill f, launched on September 25th, takes the series to a new location – 1960s Japan. Players follow Hinako Shimizu as she becomes lost in the foggy town of Ebisugaoka. This shift in setting, drawing on Japanese folklore, has resonated with fans, and Konami has confirmed the game is currently selling better than the Silent Hill 2 remake in most major markets.
Konami announced that while the ‘SILENT HILL 2’ remake sold over a million copies worldwide in its first week, the newer game, ‘SILENT HILL f,’ is currently selling even faster in all regions, including Japan.
Al Yang, Creative Director at NeoBards Studio, announced on social media that *Silent Jill* has sold over 1 million copies as of September 26th, expressing gratitude to fans for their support.
We’re thrilled to announce that *SILENT HILL f* has surpassed 1 million units sold worldwide! Thank you to everyone who has played.

The Silent Hill 2 remake sold over a million copies in under a week after its release in October 2024, marking a strong return for the series following a long hiatus. But Silent Hill f quickly surpassed that, demonstrating the huge demand for a completely new Silent Hill story and world.
Positive reviews have really helped the game gain popularity. It currently has a Metascore of 86 on Metacritic, with critics especially enjoying its immersive atmosphere, compelling story, and beautiful graphics.
This success marks a significant comeback for the survival horror series after over ten years without a new main game. With other projects, like Silent Hill Townfall, still in the works, Konami seems committed to bringing back its famously atmospheric and eerie games.
