Jennifer Lopez says her divorce from Ben Affleck was surprisingly a positive turning point in her life. In an interview with *CBS Sunday Morning*, she explained that going through the split helped her appreciate life’s ups and downs. She realized that difficult times offer valuable lessons, and embracing both the good and the bad ultimately makes life easier and more fulfilling. Lopez believes she wouldn’t have gained this perspective if she hadn’t gone through the divorce.
You know, filming *Kiss of the Spider Woman* was such a bright spot during a really tough period in my life. Honestly, every second on set, getting to dive into that role, just made me so happy – a welcome escape, really. Coming home wasn’t always easy, though. I’m incredibly grateful to Ben Affleck and Artists Equity for backing the film. It genuinely wouldn’t have gotten made without them. I told Ben it felt like the role I was *born* to play, and he just said ‘Okay, let’s make it happen,’ and he did! I’ll always be sure to give him credit for that, and maybe if I thank him from the Oscars stage, we can finally call it even!
