I started watching Summer House because I met someone at a party who worked on the show and raved about it. While the guys being attractive definitely kept me watching – seriously, Kyle Cooke, Carl Radke, and even Lindsay’s ex, Everett Weston, were incredibly good-looking in season one! – the show kept adding more attractive cast members like Luke Gulbranson, Andrea Denver, and Jordan Verroi. Okay, maybe not Jordan! But this week, Summer House introduced what might be the hottest cast member yet: West Wilson, dressed as Mrs. Doubtfire.
Okay, I’ll admit it – I have a weakness for a certain… look. There’s just something incredibly appealing about a guy trying way too hard with a bad wig, overly shiny clothes, and goofy glasses. Honestly, I think West looks better in this ridiculous getup than he ever has, even when he’s showing off his physique! While some people might be searching for sun-kissed bodies online, I’m all about the unexpectedly fabulous image of athletes in hilariously over-the-top drag.
What West did at the party was far more dramatic than his costume. This whole situation is a lesson for future reality stars: themed parties always lead to serious confrontations while everyone’s wearing silly outfits. Imagine Mr. Doubtfire having a tense talk with Kyle Cooke, who was dressed as the creepy old man Herbert from Family Guy. West finally followed through on his promise to address how Kyle treated Amanda the night before.
West had a really honest conversation with Kyle. He told him that while he understands things are complicated, Kyle’s behavior was clearly wrong and uncalled for. West firmly said Kyle needed to apologize, especially to Amanda, who didn’t deserve it. However, he also reassured Kyle that he was still his friend and would be there for him, offering himself as someone Kyle could talk to instead of taking things out on others. It was a great example of how men should support each other – by calling out unacceptable behavior towards women while also encouraging emotional openness.
Before I started summarizing, everyone was buzzing with rumors, but nothing had been confirmed. There was a lot of serious talk at the party, especially between Kyle and Carl, who, with his silver hair, was considered the second most attractive guy there after West, who was dressed as Mrs. Doubtfire. Carl confronted Kyle about not investing in Loverboy, but also acknowledged everything Kyle had done for him and how much he values their friendship. Kyle then launched into a description of Loverboy’s financial troubles, explaining they only have enough money to cover payroll for three months and are in a really difficult situation. Carl later admitted in an interview that the conversation went nowhere, as Kyle just used it as an opportunity to complain. While I sympathize with Kyle – he’s clearly struggling with work and his relationship is falling apart – it’s frustrating that he couldn’t even ask Carl how his business, Soft Bar, was doing or offer any support. At least Carl had Bailey to chat with.
Inside, West is talking with Kyle, while Mia, Ciara, and Lindsay are outside with Amanda. Mia, who I immediately connected with, tells Amanda firmly, “Stop letting him treat you like that – you deserve better.” It’s a direct and honest moment, and it feels significant. This is the first time we see Ciara suggest Amanda consider separating from her partner, though I’m sure they’ve discussed it privately before. Ciara points out that if they constantly upset each other, they both need space. She even offers Amanda a place to stay and pledges her support. It’s wonderful to see women rallying around each other like this.
The morning after the party was surprisingly sweet – Dara and KJ made breakfast for everyone, which was just adorable. Then things got a little messy when Ben asked Lindsay if he could bring his ex, Sabrina, to her housewarming. Lindsay said yes, and I’m pretty sure it’s because she was hoping Sabrina might bring a wealthy friend along instead of just another houseplant! Later, Ciara shared some really touching news – she bought her grandparents’ old house in North Carolina. It was built by her grandfather and was a constant in her life, so keeping it in the family clearly means the world to her. She invited all of us down next summer, and honestly, I bet everyone will jump at the chance to see what she’s doing with it. It struck me that this cast is the only one on Bravo who doesn’t get a big group trip every year. Seriously, send the Summer House crew down to Ciara’s for a weekend! They deserve it. I’m not gonna lie, I actually got a little emotional hearing Ciara’s story, especially when Mia and West both told her how proud they were. It’s so good to see West being supportive of her, too.
The episode ends with Lindsay’s housewarming party, and everyone is wondering how she can afford such a large and expensive home – those Hellman’s endorsements must be incredibly lucrative! Carl attends and brings gifts for both Lindsay and Gemma, and while there’s still some awkwardness between them, it seems like they’re starting to move past their breakup and remain professional. It’s good to see exes being able to navigate things amicably on the show. Lindsay appears completely unbothered by Carl, looking fantastic in a metallic floral dress. There’s a brief disagreement between Bailey and Dara at the party, which Bailey manages well, but it looks like the full fallout will happen next week.
Before things wrap up, Amanda and Kyle have one final, honest conversation. Kyle, now sober, is finally able to discuss their relationship. He had apologized the previous night, as West suggested, but Amanda wants to know why it took him so long. He explains he needed time to process his feelings, which Amanda quickly challenges, reminding him that he previously lashed out at her with hurtful words. Kyle claims he was trying to understand why he felt so upset, but the real reasons are clear: he feels unloved, neglected in favor of their friends, overshadowed by Amanda’s involvement in his work, and unsupported as his business struggles. He’s deeply hurt and feels she isn’t offering him comfort.
Kyle is confused and hurt that Amanda seems to be giving up on their relationship, wondering if she’s already moved on. He desperately wants to fix things and is willing to do whatever it takes, including couples therapy. Amanda feels she’s stood by Kyle through difficult times and scandals, but she’s reached her limit and won’t tolerate being spoken to that way anymore. She’s finished with the relationship. Kyle expresses his simple desire to be loved, and Amanda echoes the sentiment, but as she looks into his eyes, she realizes she needs to find that love elsewhere. She gazes out the window, beyond their messy backyard and into the distance, symbolizing her need to move forward and find happiness beyond him.
Okay, big news! The reports are confirmed: West and Amanda are now dating – or at least, they’re seeing each other. Wow, I wasn’t expecting that.
