Fans asked to build full art Pokemon cards in Lego

Lego is holding a contest where participants need to build a brand new Pokemon card design using Lego bricks – they can’t just copy an existing card.

These designs aim to recreate the look of Pokemon trading cards – famous for their intricate art and collectibility – but built with Lego bricks.

The full list of Pokemon eligible for the competition.

Lego is hosting a building competition for anyone around the world. Entries will be judged on how creative and original they are, and how successfully they recreate a trading card as a Lego model.

The biggest draw is the grand prize, as the winning build will be turned into an official Lego set.

Eligible Pokemon and build size

The contest also includes specific guidelines for what fans are allowed to submit.

Submissions should be constructed from 400 to 2,500 Lego bricks and shouldn’t include any Lego minifigures. The Lego creations should also be shaped and sized like a Pokemon Trading Card Game card.

Contest participants can only use Pokemon from a pre-approved list, which includes powerful choices like Mewtwo, Lucario, and Dragonite. Special versions like Shiny Pokemon or regional forms aren’t permitted unless specifically stated in the rules.

All entries must be completely original work. You can’t submit something that’s already been created. A panel of judges will choose the finalists, and then fans will vote to decide the winner.

You can join the competition by visiting its challenge page. The entry deadline is May 6, 2026.
