Absolute Batman To Finally Get His Own Game

The popular Batman storyline, Absolute Batman, is getting its own board game! This new adaptation will bring the story to life in a different way and connects to the ongoing Batman: Gotham City Chronicles series, specifically Season 4.

Absolute Batman board game coming soon

The world of Batman is growing! A new board game inspired by the ‘Absolute Batman’ story is being released, bringing the character beyond traditional comic books.

This project is the fourth installment of the Batman: Gotham City Chronicles board game series. It will be funded through a Gamefound campaign later this year. According to Gamefound, Batman: Gotham City Chronicles is a miniatures board game for 2-4 players where heroes and villains battle it out in unique, detailed scenarios throughout Gotham City.

This update will add the Absolute Universe to the game, bringing redesigned versions of Gotham City and its characters as playable miniatures. Initial looks suggest players can expect to see characters like Alfred Pennyworth and Black Mask, plus several different enemy types aligned with Black Mask’s group.

This update introduces a focus on vertical environments, letting action happen on rooftops, inside buildings, and at street level all at once. Players can strategically position their characters across these different heights during battles.

This expansion needs the original Batman: Gotham City Chronicles game to play, which will be re-released during the campaign. You’ll be able to enjoy the new content in different ways – through traditional competitive matches, or by playing alone or with friends in cooperative mode.

Season 4 will also re-release the original game and all previous expansions, making it easier for new players to jump in. The story is inspired by the current Absolute Batman comic series by Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta, offering a fresh take on Gotham City and its characters. More information about the expansion will be shared as the launch date approaches.
