Maxie Solters, Publicist, Writer, Actor, Dies at 37

As a fellow artist and advocate for women’s rights, I was deeply saddened to learn about the untimely passing of Maxie Solters. Her story is one that resonates with me, as we both shared a passion for the arts, a commitment to social change, and a desire to make a difference in the world.

On Thursday, Maxie Solters, a prominent figure within the entertainment industry as a publicist, writer, actor, and producer, passed away suddenly. The reason for her death has not been disclosed; she was only 37 years old.

1987 saw the birth of Solters in Sherman Oaks, California. After growing up there, she completed her BA in Theatre from the University of Southern California. Upon graduation, she embarked on a career in casting for films and television shows, all while working as a coordinator for One Billion Rising, an organization dedicated to ending violence against women and those affected by gender-based violence. Solters has starred in numerous productions and even created, produced, and starred in her own comedy web series.

2012 saw me stepping into the realm of public relations, joining a lineage spanning three generations within my family – preceded by my father Larry and my late grandfather Lee. At Scoop Marketing, I had the privilege to work with esteemed clients such as the Kia Forum, the iconic Hollywood Bowl, Music Forward, and numerous others. Beyond my professional duties, I was an active participant in V-Day International and women’s rights advocacy.

Among those who carry on after her are her father Larry, together with his companion Carol Greenhut; her mother Debra Graff; her aunt Susan Reynolds; her cousin Jonah Reynolds; and her long-term partner Dim Dobrin, as well as her beloved dog Pookie (depicted above).

A special tribute for Maxie’s life is being arranged. Instead of sending flowers, the family kindly asks for contributions in Maxie’s honor to One Billion Rising.
