Dead by Daylight's PlayStation Users Get Free Bloodpoints

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent in the terrifying yet exhilarating world of Dead by Daylight, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions regarding this recent PlayStation outage and the subsequent compensation. On one hand, I appreciate the developers stepping up to acknowledge the inconvenience and offering some form of reparation. However, as someone who had plans for a marathon session during that downtime, the amount of Bloodpoints offered seems a tad underwhelming.

As a dedicated fan of Dead by Daylight who has experienced numerous outages and server downtimes over the years, I was disheartened to hear about this week’s prolonged PlayStation outage that left many players, including myself, unable to access the game. The frustration and disappointment were palpable in the gaming community as we all eagerly awaited a resolution. However, it brings me immense joy to learn that Behaviour Interactive has acknowledged our patience and is offering compensation in the form of rewards for PlayStation users. As someone who values fairness and customer satisfaction, I believe this move demonstrates the company’s commitment to its community and their overall experience within the game. I eagerly await the arrival of my reward and look forward to continuing my journey in the haunting world of Dead by Daylight.

Give us compensation

In simpler terms, the issue affecting Dead by Daylight is now resolved. PlayStation gamers will soon get some form of compensation. Thank you for your understanding and we’re glad to have you back!

It came as a bit of a surprising move, as, while DBD sometimes offers compensation for outages or issues, it’s rarely for such a brief outage. However, during the outage, developers were unable to provide a lot of information to players about what was going on or when the game would be back online.  In fact, it’s still unknown what caused the issue. This confusion among players likely contributed to developers’ decision to give fans a bit of a reward for their patience.

Since August 16th, players have shared different experiences regarding the compensation they’ve received, with some still waiting to get any at all. The reported amounts range from a minimum of 350k Bloodpoints to as much as 500k. No player has mentioned receiving alternative in-game currencies such as Iridescent Shards or Auric Cells for their issues; these valuable currencies are seldom given out for free by developers.

Where is our compensation @DeadbyDaylight?

Players are gradually getting their rewards, but some feel dissatisfied with the apparent size of the compensation. A player on Twitter has calculated the potential Bloodpoints they could’ve earned during the downtime, estimating it to be approximately 1 million units of the currency. This user proposes that a larger sum, like 1 million, would be more fitting as compensation, given the game was offline for an entire day, instead of the relatively smaller amounts being suggested currently.

Based on my calculations, I estimate that we lost somewhere between 800,000 and 1.4 million business points during the downtime. Using an average seems fair, so let’s say we missed around 1 million BP.

At this point, we’re still unsure about the exact amount of compensation PlayStation users might receive due to yesterday’s outage, as information has been rather conflicting. There’s a chance that different players may end up receiving different amounts of in-game currency.

Regardless of how many Bloodpoints developers offer, it’s worth noting that even if you didn’t try to play during the PlayStation outage, you’ll still get compensation when logging in on the platform. So no matter how much Behaviour offers, it’s likely worth logging in to grab those freebies.
