How to Beat Mr. Filthy in Super Meat Boy 3D.

As you might expect from a Super Meat Boy game, Super Meat Boy 3D is packed with difficult challenges. This time around, there’s something new: boss fights at the end of each of the game’s five worlds.

You’ve likely finished World One – The Forest and defeated Sawhalanthropus – well done! Now, prepare for a tougher challenge in World Two – The Wastes. You’ll face Mr. Filthy, a rather unsettling brain controlling a huge, gooey body. It’s going to be… unpleasant, to say the least.

So, you’re stuck on a tough enemy in Super Meat Boy 3D and want to learn how to defeat it? You’ve found the right guide!

Mr. Filthy Video Guide

The best way to master the battles in Super Meat Boy 3D is likely by watching video guides, since success depends heavily on knowing the correct path. Unlike the first boss, Mr. Filthy doesn’t move around, so you won’t have to deal with a fast-moving level like you did with Sawhalanthropus. Whether that makes the fight easier or harder is up to each player.

If you can last until Mr. Filthy accidentally knocks himself out three times with large garbage balls, you’ll unlock World 3 – The Forge.

How to Beat Mr. Filthy

In this boss fight against Mr. Filthy, you’ll find four platforms around the arena. To win, you need to jump carefully between these platforms and avoid his attacks.

You can usually jump across small gaps, but sprinting before you jump will help you reach much further.

To start, simply jump between platforms to avoid the large green tentacles that emerge from the pipes. Watch for arrows on the ground – they’ll warn you when a tentacle is about to strike, so quickly move to a safe platform.

Also, be careful of the pipes – they’re surrounded by a deadly energy field, so stay well away from them.

Then, you’ll need to avoid three incoming attacks in a row. Look for targets on the floor – they show you where the attacks will land.

It’s best to begin on the platform in the top-left corner, since it offers two spaces to dodge the incoming missiles. When the third wave of attacks comes, move to the platform in the top-right corner and stand all the way in the back. This will cause Mr. Filthy to be hit by a large trash ball, which will hurt him.

Next are more tentacles to dodge, and it’s the exact same thing as before.

Next, two groups of three spinning sawblades will appear on opposite sides of the area. They’ll then start to rotate around the arena in a counter-clockwise direction while more objects fall from above.

To succeed, simply remain on the third platform, jump over the spinning blades, and quickly sidestep to avoid the incoming projectiles before they hit you. The video linked above provides a clear demonstration of exactly how to do this.

After this, Mr. Filthy will take his second dose of damage.

A large cube of trash will then appear in the arena and begin spinning towards the middle of the screen. Simply stay near the edges to avoid it.

After a very short while, Mr. Filthy will be hit for a third time, and you live to see another day.
