Scott Mills has departed from the BBC. The network stated his contract wasn’t renewed after concerns were raised about his behavior.
Scott Mills, the host of the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, unexpectedly left his show after telling listeners he’d be back the next day. However, when the program returned, Gary Davies announced he was filling in for Mills, and the BBC later confirmed that Mills had left the company.
The BBC confirmed that Scott Mills has left the organization and is no longer under contract, but they don’t typically comment on individual staff changes.

In an email to employees, BBC Head of Music Lorna Clarke admitted the news would be surprising and unexpected, and that it would likely shock both staff and listeners.
She acknowledged that the news would surprise viewers and regular listeners of the breakfast show. She promised to share more details about the show’s future as soon as she could.
For years, Mills was a popular and well-known personality on BBC Radio. He started at Radio 2 in 2022, taking over the afternoon show from Steve Wright, before becoming the host of the Breakfast Show. His work with the BBC actually began way back in 1998 with Radio 1, and he later presented the Official Chart from 2018 to 2022.
Beyond his radio work, Mills frequently appeared on the BBC, including a stint on Strictly Come Dancing in 2014 and Celebrity Race Across The World. He also teamed up with Rylan to provide commentary for the Eurovision semi-finals in 2025.
The BBC’s recent annual report shows that Mills earned between £355,000 and £359,999, making him the 11th highest-paid personality at the corporation.
At the time of writing, Mills hasn’t spoken publicly about his exit from the BBC.
