Jujutsu Kaisen Officially Loses to One Piece Again in New Oricon Manga Sales Ranking

It’s struggling to keep pace with the most popular shows currently on TV, and it’s unlikely to ever reach that level.

I just saw the latest manga sales numbers from outside of Japan, and it’s a bit of a mixed bag! The Jujutsu Kaisen spinoff, Mamahaha no Kokoroe, had a really nice boost – over 8,000 more copies sold for Volume 3, which is awesome! But honestly, everything else on the list pretty much stayed the same. It’s cool to see Mamahaha doing well, but I was hoping for a bit more movement overall.

One Piece Takes Down JJK Once More in Newest Oricon Top 10 Manga Sales Ranking

Sales figures show that 194,752 copies were sold, while One Piece Vol. 114 led with 612,629 units. One-Punch Man Vol. 36 came in third at 111,187 units, and Ichi the Witch Vol. 7 and Sakamoto Days Vol. 26 completed the top five, selling 64,558 and 63,768 copies respectively.

With the Jujutsu Kaisen manga finishing in 2024 after 30 volumes, and the second volume of its spinoff, Modulo, released last month, Modulo’s continued success – remaining in second place on the Oricon sales chart – is impressive. The recent end of Season 3 of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime is likely boosting the franchise’s popularity, as is the completion of the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga with chapter 25 released on March 8th.

It’s no surprise that One Piece Volume 114 has been a huge hit – it’s sold over 600,000 copies since its release on March 4th. However, this is just the beginning, as the One Piece franchise has several other major releases planned for 2026.

I watched the premiere of One Piece: Into the Grand Line on March 10th, and it instantly became a huge hit on the streaming service. Critics are loving it too – it currently has a perfect 100% ‘Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 27 reviews. Viewers seem to agree, giving it a 95% rating – that’s based on over 2,500 user reviews!

As the popular series begins its adaptation of the beloved Elbaph Arc on April 5th, Luffy and the Straw Hat crew will journey to the island of Elbaph. This is the home of the giants, a race of towering people who can be either friendly or incredibly dangerous.

The upcoming episodes will not only feature major characters from One Piece, but they’ll also bring some of the series’ most complex and fascinating ideas to life on screen for the first time.
