Pokémon Legends: Z-A Season 9 Ranked Battle Rewards Revealed
Season 9 of Pokémon Legends: Z-A Ranked Battles begins on April 1, 2026, at 11:00 PM PDT and ends on April 22, 2026, at 6:59 PM PDT. Players will start at the Z Rank and can climb higher by winning battles and playing well.
Players who participate in Season 9’s Ranked Battles will receive prizes based on their final rank at the end of the season.

Will Pokémon Legends Be Replaced by Pokémon Champions?
2026 will be an unusual year for competitive Pokémon battling. Currently, battles take place across three different games: Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Scarlet & Violet, and Champions. The game Champions is launching on April 8, 2026, as a free-to-start title, and Nintendo and The Pokémon Company intend for it to become the primary platform for competitive battles in the future.
Although Pokémon Champions is the first game to combine battle features from different generations, it seems the special real-time battle system introduced in Pokémon Legends: Z-A won’t be appearing in the main series games anytime soon. Luckily, events like the Z-A Ranked Battles will still let players practice and show off their skills in this fast-paced style of combat.
2026 could be a great year for competitive Pokémon fans with the release of Pokémon Champions, especially alongside the more relaxed gameplay of Pokémon Pokopia. But things might shift in 2027 with the planned release of Pokémon Winds & Waves.
