‘Bosch’ Renee Ballard Spinoff Adds Amy Hill, Michael Mosley, Rebecca Field, Victoria Moroles to Cast

As a seasoned fan of Michael Connelly’s work and a devoted viewer of Bosch, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement with the announcement of the new spinoff focusing on Renee Ballard. The quartet joining Maggie Q, Courtney Taylor, and John Carroll Lynch seems like a perfect blend of fresh talent and experienced actors that will bring this intriguing character to life.

The “Bosch” spinoff centered on cold case detective Renee Ballard is rounding out its main cast.

Michael Mosley, Rebecca Field, Victoria Moroles, and renowned actress Amy Hill have all agreed to join the main cast for their respective TV shows: “The Calling,” “Shameless,” “Never Have I Ever,” “The Gordita Chronicles,” “Plan B,” “Mom,” “Unreal,” and “50 First Dates.”

The quartet joins the already-announced main actor, Maggie Q, along with Courtney Taylor and John Carroll Lynch in the series.

Mosley takes on the character of Ted Rawls, a reserve officer initially hesitant about handling cold cases under Ballard’s watch. Field embodies Colleen Hatteras, a passionate volunteer with an unusual flair who thinks her intuitions could aid in solving cases. Moroles portrays Martina Castro, an ambitious legal intern determined to demonstrate her value within the department. Lastly, Hill brings Tutu to life, Ballard’s spirited grandmother and most devoted supporter.

Mosley, Field, Moroles, and Hill are each represented by different talent agencies: Mosley is handled by Gersh, Hansen Jacobson, and Persona PR; Field is with Greene Talent and Trademark Talent; Moroles is under CESD and Vision Entertainment; and Hill is represented by SMS Talent, Inc.

Similar to “Bosch,” this series is inspired by the novels penned by author Michael Connelly. According to its description, the show revolves around Ballard, who oversees the LAPD’s newly established cold case division – a financially struggling team made up entirely of volunteers with the largest caseload in the city. Ballard tackles these long-dormant cases with compassion and perseverance. As she delves deeper into her investigations, she uncovers a broader conspiracy, prompting her to seek help from her retired associate, Harry Bosch, to navigate the risks that jeopardize not only her team but also her life.

The Ballard series is overseen by Jet Wilkinson, Connelly, Michael Alaimo, and Kendall Sherwood in executive roles. Alaimo and Sherwood are additionally appointed as showrunners. Henrik Bastin and Melissa Aouate serve as executive producers for Fabel Entertainment, with Jasmine Russ assuming the role of co-executive producer. Additionally, Jamie Boscardin Martin, Mark Douglas, and Trey Batchelor will work as co-executive producers. Theresa Snider will also serve as a co-executive producer under Hieronymus Pictures. Lastly, Amazon MGM Studios are responsible for its production.
