As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the gaming industry has certainly evolved since the days of Pong and Pac-Man. The latest offering from PlayStation, Concord, is a testament to this evolution, boasting a multiplayer shooter experience that promises hours of immersive gameplay.
Later this month, you can dive into Concord, the highly anticipated multiplayer shooter from PlayStation. If you can’t wait to join the action, Firewalk Studios has revealed when the early access and global launches will take place. Furthermore, they’ve shared details about the game’s post-launch plans, including the introduction of Season 1 in October.
How to get early access
Those who purchase the Concord digital deluxe version, priced at $60 USD, will be able to start playing from Tuesday, August 20. However, the worldwide release for everyone is set for Friday, August 23. The pre-loading process for all versions of the game on PS5 starts today, August 13. Unfortunately, specific details about pre-loading on PC have yet to be disclosed.
Today, many video games grant early access to those who pay a premium, and Concord is no exception – it’s the newest game joining this trend.
Concord early access unlock time
Access to Concord starts at 10 AM Pacific Time on August 20, which corresponds to 1 PM Eastern Time in New York, 2 PM in Sao Paulo, 6 PM in London, and 7 PM in Berlin. Those living in locations such as Tokyo (2 AM), Seoul (2 AM), and Sydney (3 AM) may need to wake up early or stay up late to join immediately.
Starting August 23, all standard-edition players worldwide can simultaneously unlock Concord. This event takes place three days after the global launch, and it’s compatible with both PS5 and PC systems.
Post-launch roadmap
As an enthusiastic player, I can’t contain my excitement as Firewalk has given us a sneak peek into what awaits Concord post-launch. The first season, “The Tempest,” is set to drop in October, and it promises a host of new elements. We’ll get to know a fresh character, explore a brand-new map, encounter novel game variants, and collect more cosmetics and rewards. Moreover, this season will bring a series of weekly cinematic vignettes that will enrich the ongoing narrative even further.
In Season 1, you’ll find an in-game shop where players can buy non-essential, purely aesthetic customization items. Firewalk Studios confirmed these items do not affect gameplay and are optional. These purchases differ from the many cosmetic items that can be earned through regular game progression.
Previously mentioned, Concord does not offer a battle pass or any paid expansions. Today, Firewalk reinforced this policy, stating, “We value your commitment to the game and aim to involve every player in our shared adventure.”
Season 2 for Concord is scheduled to release in January 2025, with more seasons to come thereafter.
