Jason Statham’s Spy Movie With Near-Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score Becomes Streaming Hit In The United States

Jason Statham’s Spy secures another target.

Jason Statham is now a major star in action films. Some of his most popular movies include Furious 7, Wrath of Man, and The Bank Job. While he’s best known for the Fast & Furious series, he’s also been a hit in franchises like The Expendables and the newer Meg films.

I’ve noticed Jason Statham hasn’t lost a step! He’s been consistently delivering action flicks like Guy Ritchie’s Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, which is actually getting a lot of attention again thanks to streaming, and The Beekeeper, which they’re already planning a sequel for in 2027. While we wait for his next big thing, it’s cool to rediscover one of his older films – there’s an 11-year-old movie of his that’s having a bit of a moment right now.

According to FlixPatrol, Jason Statham’s Spy is currently the third most popular movie on Starz in the U.S. It’s performing well, surpassing other big titles like Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home at number four and the Stephen King film The Long Walk at number six. Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is currently at the top of the list.

The movie Spy boasts a fantastic cast, including Jason Statham, Jude Law, Melissa McCarthy, Rose Byrne, and many other well-known actors. The film is a funny action story about Susan Cooper, a CIA analyst played by Melissa McCarthy, who unexpectedly finds herself in the field. She takes action when Bradley Fine, the agent she secretly assisted (played by Jude Law), is killed.

I loved watching Jason Statham as Rick Ford! He plays this really cool CIA agent who goes off the books because he doesn’t agree with a mission they’re sending Susan on. It’s awesome! And it wasn’t just me who thought so – Spy was a huge hit in theaters, making over $235.6 million worldwide. Considering it cost around $65 million to make, it only needed to earn between $130 and $162.5 million to be considered a success, so it definitely crushed it!

The movie Spy was a huge hit with both critics and audiences. It currently holds a 94% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, making it Jason Statham’s highest-rated film to date. That’s a significant lead over his second highest-rated movie, Furious 7, which has an 81% rating.

While Spy has a good audience score of 78% on Rotten Tomatoes, several of the actor’s more recent action films have scored even higher. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (88%), Wrath of Man (90%), and The Beekeeper (92%) all rank above it. Despite this, Spy remains a widely enjoyed film, and it’s definitely worth revisiting now that it’s popular on streaming services.
