It was hoped that Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni would resolve their dispute outside of court, or at least quickly if it went to trial in March. However, they are still scheduled for a May 18th trial regarding issues that arose during the making of the movie It Ends With Us, and in related email exchanges. Now, Baldoni’s lawyers have requested a delay, claiming Lively’s team recently submitted a large amount of unnecessary documents – almost a thousand – and listed over 40 witnesses. They’ve asked for a one-week postponement of the final pretrial conference, but that might not actually change the trial date. While the extension could be granted without delaying things, any changes to the schedule could make the process more complicated and potentially push the trial back significantly – like unexpectedly extending the school year into the summer. Hopefully, the case won’t drag on for months.
