Star Trek Online celebrates Star Trek: Enterprise anniversary with premium ship bundle

Cryptic Studios recently finished celebrating the 16th anniversary of the online game Star Trek: Online with a new, large bundle of premium starships available for purchase. This bundle commemorates two important milestones: the 25th anniversary of the Star Trek: Enterprise TV show (which first aired in 2001) and the 60th anniversary of the entire Star Trek franchise. It includes playable starships inspired by the designs seen in Star Trek: Enterprise.

To generate excitement for the new ship bundle, Cryptic released a detailed video presented as an in-universe documentary. The video explores the backstories and notable missions of the four ships included: the Vulcan Suurok-class Science Destroyer, the Andorian Kumari-class Pilot Light Battlecruiser, the United Earth NP-class Miracle Worker Light Escort, and the United Earth NV-class Multi-Mission Temporal Cruiser.

The four new ships come with designs inspired by the original Star Trek: Enterprise. Players can also choose from free cosmetic options to give their ships the look of later Star Trek vessels if they prefer a more modern style.

The NP-class Light Escort is a ship design from the show, often nicknamed “Warp Delta” because of its hull shape. In the game, it’s presented as a protective vessel meant to keep United Earth’s new trade routes and colonies safe from pirates. A special skin is available that updates its appearance to match the look of the current version of Star Trek Online.

The United Earth NV-class cruiser is built on the same design as the Intrepid, a popular ship from the NX-01 Enterprise era known for its unique shape. This new cruiser can also launch small shuttlepods, similar to those used in the original Enterprise series. Players can customize the NV-class with a special skin inspired by the “Lost Era,” the period between the original Star Trek and Star Trek: The Next Generation. If you own the Okinawa-class Pilot Raider, you’ll also get three additional skin options to use with the NV-class.

The Vulcan Suurok-class Science Destroyer is modeled after a standard Vulcan High Command ship. It’s versatile, able to prioritize either powerful weapons or advanced scientific capabilities. Players can also customize its appearance: it can be made to resemble a 25th-century Starfleet vessel, or painted with the distinctive deep red color seen on Vulcan ships in the Lower Decks animated series.

The Andorian Kumari-class Light Battlecruiser is inspired by the ships used by Shran in the original Enterprise series. It’s designed to work with parts from six other Andorian ships previously released in the Star Trek Online game, but you’ll need to own those ships to use those parts. It also includes a futuristic Starfleet paint job and a more striking “Stalking Makras” design with bold hull markings.

You can purchase each of the four ships individually in the in-game C-Store. However, if you buy the complete 16th Anniversary bundle, you’ll also receive bonus items. These include extra ship slots, upgrade tokens, lock box keys, a special environmental suit and weapon set inspired by the original Enterprise, and the ability to unlock two existing ships at a higher level: the NX-class Enterprise (including its updated design), and the Xindi-Primate Ateleth Dreadnought – an alien ship seen in Season 3 of the series.

Star Trek Online is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
