Crimson Desert: The Screaming Vault Puzzle Guide

In Crimson Desert, you can find Abyss Artifacts in several ways: by fighting enemies, restoring power to the Abyss, completing quests, and solving puzzles. The game features many puzzles where activating an Abyss Cresset will always give you an Abyss Artifact.

The Screaming Vault is a challenging puzzle where you need to find hidden symbols around the area and use them to power up the Abyss Cresset. While the symbols can be hard to spot, a key hint inside the vault will guide you to their locations.

The Screaming Vault Location

Okay, so I found this puzzle called The Screaming Vault. It’s west of Demeniss, and I’ve marked the exact spot on the attached image. Look for my character’s waypoint and the red X – that’s where it is!

Okay, so when I finally got to the Screaming Vault, I was honestly a little confused – it looked totally empty at first. But then I noticed this hole in the ground, and that’s how you get down to the actual puzzle area. Seriously, just jump down there – that’s where the Screaming Vault puzzle is hidden in Crimson Desert!

How to Solve the Screaming Vault in Crimson Desert

When you enter the Screaming Vault in Crimson Desert, be careful of the arrow and spike traps. A simple way to avoid them is to dodge and roll forward into the next room.

The goal of the Screaming Vault is to line up three dials with symbols on them. To discover the correct order, you’ll need to locate three scarecrows nearby. Each scarecrow displays the proper alignment for one of the dials.

It’s tricky to find the right scarecrows because there are so many around. Fortunately, there’s a map inside the Screaming Vault that shows where the three correct ones are – it has three red X’s marking their locations.

Okay, so if you’re like me and want to explore and find those scarecrows on your own, definitely take a screenshot of the map before you leave the Screaming Vault. Trust me, you’ll want it! But if you’d rather just know where they are, I’ve got the locations listed below.

Scarecrow Location #1

The first scarecrow is close to the Screaming Vault, just to the north. You’ll find it beside some large hay structures, sitting on the dirt. The symbol you need is displayed on both the scarecrow and the ground nearby.

Scarecrow Location #2

You’ll find the second scarecrow to the northwest of the first one. It’s located right beside a big hay structure, so it should be easy to see even from far away.

Scarecrow Location #3

The last scarecrow is located further north in a big dirt field. It can be hard to spot because the symbol on the ground is the same color as the dirt.

Seriously, you HAVE to screenshot those scarecrows! Trust me, you’ll want to remember exactly what they looked like later, and a picture is the perfect way to do that.

Once you’ve examined the scarecrows with the markings, you’ll be able to unlock the solution to the Screaming Vault puzzle in Crimson Desert. The solution is shown in the image above.

If the Abyss Cresset doesn’t light up when you set the dials, the symbols might be a little misaligned. It took me a few attempts to get it just right, so pay close attention to the image above.

When you set the dials to the right settings, the Abyss Cresset will turn on and allow you to take the Abyss Artifact. This artifact is used to improve your gear, learn new abilities, and boost your character’s stats.
