SaGa series illustrator Satoshi Kuramochi left Square Enix in February 2026 and is now going freelance

Satoshi Kuramochi revealed on social media that he finished working at Square Enix in February 2026 and is now working as a freelance artist.

Kuramochi was highly regarded at Square Enix for his contributions to the SaGa series. He worked on popular games like Imperial SaGa, Romancing SaGa Re;Universe, and SaGa Scarlet Grace.

Kuramochi announced he’d been working on both the SaGa series and Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy. He also mentioned that the illustration released to celebrate the game was the final piece he created before leaving the company.
