With Paradise Season 2 nearing its end, Episode 7 offered new hints about who the enigmatic ‘Alex’ really is. Fans are now theorizing that a crucial clue actually appeared way back in Episode 3.
Season 2 of Paradise has been full of surprises and puzzling events. We’ve been trying to figure out what connects Link and Dylan, and why some characters are experiencing unexplained nosebleeds – which could be linked to different versions of reality.
A central mystery of the show has been the identity of Alex, and the creators have assured viewers they will reveal the answer before the season ends.
At the close of Episode 7, Sinatra spoke to Alex, though the audience didn’t see what she was saying. Now, a new idea proposes that we actually saw Alex much earlier in the show…
Paradise fan theory suggests Alex is a machine

Although ‘Alex’ could refer to a person, it’s more likely the name of a machine created by Sinatra. This machine was built at the same time as the bunker and might explain the nosebleeds and other unusual events from Season 2.
A Reddit user thinks everything connects back to Episode 3, specifically the moment Billy kills Henry Miller. Here’s what they had to say:
In Season 2, Episode 3, Miller is having drinks with Billy Pace, the hitman sent by Sinatra. Miller describes a young student – at least ten years younger than his classmates – who quickly grasps the material in a way Miller has never witnessed before. He refers to this student as the closest thing he’s ever had to a son. We later learn this student is Dylan.
“Right before Billy kills him, Miller does three things:
- He injects his wife and says “I’ll see ya soon… my love.”
- Then, separately: “Goodbye, Alex.”
- He hands Billy a paper towel and says “you may need this.”

His last plea was simple: when the boy arrives, allow him to leave unharmed. He insisted it wasn’t an exaggeration to believe the future of the world could rest on this single act.
He’s saying ‘Goodbye, Alex’ – but he isn’t speaking to his wife. Pay close attention to those words. He then tells the woman lying before him, ‘I’ll see you soon, my love.’ That’s his final goodbye to the woman he cherished.
“Goodbye, Alex” is spoken as a distinct moment. He’s shifting his attention to a machine in the room, one that Miller constructed.
So, the theory suggests that Alex isn’t actually Miller’s wife, but a robot hidden in the same room. The person posting online then explains what this machine is capable of.
Alex is the key to resolving the problem – the only one who can truly fix things by altering time. That’s why Sinatra is dedicating immense power to it, and why she prioritizes its protection above all else.
