Late Night With The Devil Limited-Edition Blu-Ray Comes With Some Unique Extras

As a seasoned horror enthusiast with a penchant for unique collectibles, I can’t help but be thrilled about the upcoming release of Late Night with the Devil Limited-Edition Steelbook Blu-ray. Having missed its theatrical run and initial digital release, this limited edition is the perfect opportunity to immerse myself in a film that has been hailed as one of the best horror movies of 2024.

Although “Late Night with the Devil” debuted at South by Southwest last year, it didn’t gain significant popularity until it was released in theaters this March and appeared on Shudder afterward. Critics’ rave reviews propelled “Late Night with the Devil” to the top of Rotten Tomatoes’ list of the best horror movies of 2024 with a 97% Fresh rating. If you don’t subscribe to Shudder or missed it during its brief theater run, you can soon own this fantastic movie by preordering the limited-edition Blu-ray, which will be available starting September 10. You can place your preorder at Amazon for $31.

Given that Walmart has run out of preorders for certain items, it’s likely that Amazon won’t be much different in this case. Historically, Amazon tends to sell out of exclusive Blu-ray releases even before Walmart does.

Late Night with the Devil Limited-Edition Steelbook (Blu-ray)

  • Price: $31 | List price is $50, but most retailers are listing it for around $36.
  • Release Date: September 10

Late Night With The Devil Limited-Edition Blu-Ray Comes With Some Unique Extras

In addition to the Blu-ray and DVD versions of the movie, this exclusive set also includes a sleek steelbook case, an autographed photo of the main character Jack Delory, a unique bookmark, and a Night Owl logo air freshener. This collection of items is quite special, particularly considering it’s currently priced at only $31. Unfortunately, Walmart has run out of this edition, but Target is offering preorders for $36.

On the discs, you’ll encounter a wealth of unique elements, including commentary by David Dastmalchian, question-and-answer sessions with directors Colin and Cameron Cairnes, as well as a vast amount of behind-the-scenes material. The standard DVD edition offers the same special features, but without the physical trinkets and steelbook packaging.

The television series “Late Night with the Devil” narrates the tale of Night Owls, a late-night talk show that has experienced a steep decline in viewership since the host, Jack Delroy (portrayed by David Dastmalchian), lost his wife. In an attempt to revive ratings, Jack organizes a Halloween special involving a 13-year-old girl who is said to be haunted by a demon. However, the evening’s events do not unfold as intended, and the situation rapidly escapes Jack’s grasp.

The movie is quite chilling, and it surprisingly earned $2.8 million during its initial days in the cinema. This impressive amount marked the highest opening weekend for any IFC Films release to date. Interestingly, it made $666,666 on Sunday, which aligns symbolically, seems comically improbable, and gives a slightly eerie vibe.

It appears that “Late Night with the Devil” is shaping up to be a future cult favorite. And speaking of timeless classics, “The Strangers” (2008) will also be available in 4K Blu-ray on September 10th. The Collector’s Edition 4K UHD of “The Strangers” includes various behind-the-scenes featurettes, deleted scenes, a photo gallery, and more. Similar to “Late Night with the Devil”, it’s currently discounted before its launch. If you’re looking to expand your horror collection, make sure to check it out!

As a longtime horror movie enthusiast, I must say that the announcement of the upcoming 40th Anniversary Limited Edition of A Nightmare on Elm Street has me absolutely thrilled! Growing up in the ’80s, this iconic film was a staple of my childhood Halloween nights. The terrifying yet captivating storyline, along with Freddy Krueger’s chilling presence, left an indelible mark on me and countless others.
