As a die-hard fan of The Witcher series who has spent countless hours traversing the Continent and slaying beasts with Geralt of Rivia, the news that he will return in The Witcher 4 fills me with unbridled joy! I’ve followed the saga of this White Wolf for years, and the thought of embarking on a new adventure with him is simply intoxicating.
It seems that The Witcher returns, given the hints. Specifically, Geralt of Rivia may return in The Witcher 4, since the actor voicing him has suggested the White Wolf will feature in the game known as Polaris.
As a devoted fan, I recently caught wind from GamesRadar that my beloved voice actor for Geralt, Doug Cockle, shared some tantalizing insights regarding The Witcher 4 in a YouTube video with Fall Damage. In his own words, “The Witcher 4 has been announced, but unfortunately, I’m sworn to secrecy.” What we do know is that the iconic Geralt will indeed be present in the game; however, the extent of his involvement remains a mystery. The game won’t be centered around Geralt this time, making it an entirely fresh experience for us fans.
Regarding who the game is centered on, Cockle admits he’s unsure about it. Later, he seems to reconsider his statement, stating, “I haven’t looked at any script so far. If I did, I wouldn’t be able to tell you. Here’s the thing: I might be fibbing, but I’m not intentionally doing so, or could I?”
In his statement this year, CD Projekt Red’s co-CEO Michał Nowakowski clarified that The Witcher 4 won’t simply be a rehash of The Witcher 3 with fresh costumes. Instead, he hinted at the inclusion of “novel gameplay features and mechanisms” that were absent from Geralt’s original saga.
