McDonald’s and KPop Demon Hunters Promotion Launches New Adult Happy Meals

McDonald’s and Netflix have teamed up for a special promotion connected to the animated movie KPop Demon Hunters. Starting March 31, 2026, participating McDonald’s locations will offer two exclusive adult meal options inspired by the film.

Two Distinct Meal Choices

McDonald’s is running a promotion featuring meals based on characters from the fictional band in the Netflix series, KPop Demon Hunters. Both McDonald’s and Netflix are framing this as a way to engage fans.

The Saja Boys Breakfast Meal is offered during breakfast hours. It includes a Spicy Saja McMuffin – a Sausage McMuffin with Egg and a spicy sauce – plus a serving of hash browns and a small soft drink.

The HUNTR/X meal is offered during both lunch and dinner. It features a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, Ramyeon McShaker Fries (seasoned with a special spice blend shaken right in the bag, inspired by a popular snack), Hunter Sauce (a sweet chili sauce), and Demon Sauce (a bold, purple mustard sauce). A medium drink completes the meal.

Every meal comes with a unique collectible photo card showcasing characters related to the meal’s theme. You’ll also get a Derpy card with a QR code that unlocks special digital content on the McDonald’s app.

Besides its regular menu, McDonald’s is now selling a special Derpy McFlurry. This dessert combines vanilla soft serve with popping berry candies and a wild berry sauce, inspired by a character from a movie.

Context

KPop Demon Hunters is a 2025 animated musical fantasy movie coming to Netflix. It’s about a K-pop girl group called HUNTR/X who fight demons to save the world. Their biggest rivals are the Saja Boys, a demonic boy band competing for the same fans.

The movie quickly became incredibly popular after it was released. Because of the huge fan response, Netflix and Sony have stepped up their marketing. Official merchandise, like toys, became available this year, though it arrived too late for the 2025 holiday shopping season.

The McDonald’s meals are included in a current promotion for the film KPop Demon Hunters. Usually, fast-food promotions happen when a movie first comes out. However, Sony didn’t plan this one ahead of time. Instead, they’re using the film’s popularity to keep it in the news and fans interested, probably to build excitement for a possible sequel that’s still a few years off.
