Savannah Guthrie is determined to keep speaking out, and she isn’t backing down. In her first interview since her mother, Nancy, went missing between January 31st and February 1st, the Today show host spoke with Hoda Kotb about the continuing investigation and her strength despite the immense pain. Guthrie shared, “Someone needs to do the right thing. We are in agony. It’s unbearable.” She continued, fighting back tears, “I imagine her terror in the darkness, and it’s unthinkable. But I have to confront those thoughts, and I won’t hide. We just need her home now.”
Savannah Guthrie will share more about her personal faith and strength in a two-part interview airing on March 26th and 27th. Even a short preview of the conversation brought her co-hosts – Carson Daly, Al Roker, and Craig Melvin – to tears. Hoda Kotb expressed her admiration for Guthrie’s composure and honesty during the interview, noting her ability to discuss difficult topics with grace. Guthrie recently visited the Today show set to see her colleagues, and while she plans to return to the program, a specific date hasn’t been set.
