Tom Cruise Jumps Off Stade to France and Skydives to Hollywood Sign at Olympics Closing Ceremony, Handing Over Games to L.A.

As a seasoned movie buff with a penchant for international events, I must say that Tom Cruise‘s stunt at the Paris Olympics closing ceremony was nothing short of cinematic magic! The man never fails to impress, and this time, he took it to new heights – literally!

Tom Cruise infused a touch of Tinseltown magic into the Paris Olympic Games’ closing ceremony, as he leapt from the Stade de France roof to symbolize the transition of the games from Paris 2024 to Los Angeles 2028.

In Europe, where “Mission: Impossible 8” is being filmed, an actor leaped from the peak of France’s largest stadium, the Stade de France, and touched down on the stage during the Olympics closing ceremony. The crowd erupted in thunderous applause as he was greeted by L.A.’s new mayor, Karen Bass, who received the Olympic flag from Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo at the event. Afterwards, he mounted a motorcycle with the flag in hand and sped out of the stadium to symbolically transfer it to L.A.

Year after year, Cruise has graced the Summer Olympics. He made an appearance at the opening ceremony on the 27th of July and witnessed several competitions alongside celebrities such as Steven Spielberg, Ariana Grande, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Matthew Broderick. The day preceding this, on the 26th of July, he was bestowed the title of Knight by France’s Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, in the Legion of Honor.

Initially reported by EbMaster, Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers took the stage at the L.A. Games’ handover celebrations, joined by H.E.R., who sang the U.S. national anthem. Winners of Grammys, Oscars, and Emmys, H.E.R. was not alone in her performance, as renowned French bands Phoenix and Air, along with Belgian pop sensation Angele, had performed earlier at the event. This grand spectacle was planned by Paris Olympics artistic director Thomas Jolly and executive director Thierry Reboul.

On Friday, Bass addressed reporters in Paris, expressing that the Los Angeles Games will vividly demonstrate the multicultural and global essence of our city.

As a movie critic, I eagerly anticipate the enchanting possibilities that only Hollywood can offer, and I believe this spectacle may commence during the closing ceremony itself. Just as Paris has radiated with unbridled joy throughout these Olympic Games, I too aspire to recreate this exhilarating atmosphere in my upcoming review.

The 2024 Paris Olympics have made a significant impression by holding most events at famous sites such as Place de la Concorde, the Eiffel Tower, Chateau de Versailles, Grand Palais, and more. For the first time in recent history, the grand opening ceremony for these Olympic Games took place outdoors, following the Seine River and featuring popular artists like Lady Gaga and Celine Dion.
