New Brothers In Arms Game Might Still Be Coming After All

An Estonian developer, Frozen Lake Studios, is collaborating with Gearbox Software on a new Brothers in Arms game. According to their website, the studio has over 50 artists and animators currently working on the project, which they describe as Gearbox’s next installment in the Brothers in Arms series.

Over four years ago, Randy Pitchford, the CEO of Gearbox, announced they were developing a new Brothers in Arms game. He explained they wouldn’t share details until they were ready, wanting to avoid the kind of negative comparisons that plagued the development of Aliens: Colonial Marines. Essentially, they didn’t want to show the game too early and risk repeating past mistakes.

Frozen Lake has worked with Gearbox before, contributing to games like Borderlands 3 and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. The studio also has experience with historical titles, having assisted on World War II games such as Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond and Sniper Elite 4.

The most recent full Brothers in Arms game for consoles and PC was Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway, released in 2008. Developed by Gearbox and published by Ubisoft, the series continued with several mobile games, including Brothers in Arms 3: Sons of War in 2014. Gearbox also started working on a game called Brothers in Arms: Furious 4, but it was canceled, and some of its ideas ended up in the game Battleborn.

Gearbox recently released Borderlands 4, and they’ve already issued a big update adding a field of view (FOV) slider for console players. Unfortunately, the game is delayed for Switch 2 owners, and a new release date hasn’t been announced. If you’re interested in Borderlands 4, you can find all the latest Shift codes and learn how to use them online.
