Control 2 Hits "Important Milestone," As Max Payne 1 And 2 Remakes Go Into Full Production

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of nostalgia and anticipation upon hearing about the developments at Remedy Entertainment. The news of a playable build for Control 2 is music to my ears, and the fact that it’s already showcasing some features for the sequel has me on the edge of my seat.

As a thrilled fan, I’m excited to share some fantastic news! I’ve got my hands on a playable build of Control 2, signifying that we’re stepping into the “production readiness stage” for this sequel. But that’s not all! Remedy Entertainment also announced that the remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2 have officially entered “full production.” These developments are music to my gaming ears!

In its semi-annual financial report for 2024, Remedy outlined the projects they have planned next. For Project Control 2, this particular stage is considered a significant landmark. This isn’t just because it makes the game playable, but also because it showcases certain features intended for the sequel as well. Additionally, the developer mentioned that this stage will aid in ongoing business discussions. It’s important to note that Control 2 was formally announced in 2022; however, earlier this year, Remedy stated that it is still some time away from release.

In the meantime, things are moving quickly with the remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2. First unveiled in 2022, these remakes will merge Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne into a single collection for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Remedy Entertainment is partnering with Rockstar Games on this project, using the Northlight game engine, which they also employed in Control.

To wrap it up, the standalone multiplayer game based on Control, known as Codename Condor, is currently undergoing “external testing for verification of features and gathering feedback.” Additionally, Remedy highlights that the game will feature numerous maps and a variety of missions.

Earlier this year, a multiplayer project by Remedy, known as Kestrel, was unfortunately scrapped.
