Fields of Mistria Walkthrough Guide

As a seasoned adventurer with countless tales to tell, I’ve ventured through many labyrinthine depths, but none have been as intriguing as the Fields of Mistria mine! After scaling its towering heights, I found myself on floor 10, feeling a sense of accomplishment that only a hard-earned climb can bring. But being the curious soul I am, I decided to keep ascending and found myself passing out on floor 19 – not my finest hour, mind you!

Introduced on August 5, 2024, the game titled “Fields of Mistria” is now available for Early Access via Steam. Sharing similarities with Stardew Valley, this game offers a unique experience as you cultivate your own farm in the mystical realm of Fields of Mistria. A captivating difference: magic permeates this world! Dive into our Fields of Mistria guide to uncover methods for enhancing all your tools and discovering which town areas require repair.

From the moment I dive into this captivating world, I discover a beleaguered hamlet known as Mistria. Nestled within it, there’s an agricultural gem that requires restoration – and it just so happens to be yours for the taking, friend! It’s not all about farming, though. As an intrepid adventurer, my mission is twofold: first, to breathe new life into the farm, and second, to aid in the town’s rebuilding efforts following a devastating earthquake. However, the mystical undercurrents that course through this realm will undoubtedly add a dash of excitement to my daily chores!

Best perks to get first in Fields of Mistria

Fields of Mistria Walkthrough Guide

The skill perks in Fields of Mistria are split into nine categories:

  • Archaeology
  • Blacksmithing
  • Combat
  • Cooking
  • Farming
  • Fishing
  • Mining
  • Ranching
  • Woodcrafting

In the mystical land of Mistria, enhancing your abilities comes from accomplishing tasks that correspond with each skill. Let me give you an example – nurturing crops improves your farming talent. Though leveling up a skill doesn’t grant instant rewards, it does provide access to additional recipes (alongside other advantages later on). As you engage in various activities, you will accumulate Essence, a valuable currency that can be spent on skill enhancements, which are enduring bonuses for your abilities.

The skill level indicator is located at the bottom-left on the default menu. By clicking there, you’ll reveal a comprehensive progress chart for each of the nine skill categories, giving you an insight into your advancement.

At Levels 15 and 30 in your chosen skill, you’ll gain access to a collection of ability enhancements, which you can acquire using the Essence you’ve accumulated. Notably, Level 30 represents the highest skill level attainable in the Early Access version of Fields of Mistria.

In certain artistic fields, you may need to reach a certain proficiency threshold to access particular projects. As an illustration, reaching Levels 15 and 30 in the culinary art will grant you access to superior kitchens at the Craftsman’s Store for purchasing.

Fields of Mistria Walkthrough Guide

On the third day of the game, you’ll be able to unlock special abilities related to skills by conversing with the nearby dragon shrine at your home.

At Level 1, 3, 6, and 9, you’ll encounter several options (around three to four) for skills to select in each skill category. Here are some top benefits in the world of Mistria that are ideal for novice players when they first start out at Level 1:

  • Archaeology – Sunken Secrets (Dive spots can now contain Sunken Artifacts.)
  • Blacksmithing – Fortified Blacksmithing (Crafting Armor will occasionally result in a bonus Fortified Infusion, which grants you an additional +4 HP when worn.)
  • Combat – True Strike (Your Attacks will occasionally become Critical, doing double damage in the Mines.)
  • Cooking – Restorative Cooking (Cooking a dish will occasionally result in a bonus Restorative Infusion, which grants an HP & Stamina Regen buff when consumed.)
  • Farming – A Day Well Spent (Going to bed with zero stamina gives a stamina boost the next day.)

How to expand your backpack

Fields of Mistria Walkthrough Guide

Upon diving into this captivating world for the first time, I found myself grappling with the realization that my trusty bag only offers a finite number of compartments. Frankly, it can prove quite frustrating when attempting to collect and carry all the tantalizing treasures along my adventure!

At the General Store, you have an option to buy an upgrade for your bag, which is located in the ‘Tools Expansions’ section. This upgrade, known as a backpack expansion, will cost you 1000 Tessarae. With this addition, you’ll be able to store twice as many items. Also, it will include a new tab labeled “B” on your hotbar.

Once you finish the mission for enhancing the General Store, you’ll gain the opportunity to buy another enhancement using 2000 Tessarae. Additionally, this update will introduce a new tab labeled as “C” onto your quick access bar.

As a seasoned farmer with years of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that bag expansions alone won’t cut it when it comes to organizing supplies on the farm and at home. Instead, I recommend fashioning some sturdy storage crates for a more efficient and practical solution. These DIY crates will not only help keep your tools, seeds, and other essentials neatly arranged but also make it easier for you to find what you need in a pinch. Plus, they can be customized to fit the unique needs of your farm or household. So grab your saw, hammer, and some wood, and let’s get crafting!

How to open the mines

Fields of Mistria Walkthrough Guide

On the sixth day, you will receive a letter from Eiland, titled “Reopening the Mines.” He invites you to meet him and Errol at the museum for a discussion. Errol is hesitant due to mysterious sounds he’s heard in the mines, but if Mistria gains enough reputation to reach the Stone Rank, he might be open to resuming operations.

To increase your town rank, you can do the following tasks:

  • Complete villager requests.
  • Donate items you find to the museum.
  • Work on your farm (plant and harvest crops, etc.).

It’s a bit time-consuming, and you can expect to reach Day 14 or so before you get there. Once you reach Stone Rank, you’ll get another letter asking you to meet Errol and Eiland at the entrance to the Mine, which is by the museum.

As a seasoned adventurer with years of hardship under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement at the prospect of finally being able to explore the long-abandoned mines once more. For so long, I’ve been reduced to breaking rocks and hacking at grass with my trusty sword, dreaming of the day when I could put it to use in a more meaningful way. This quick cutscene about reopening the mines feels like a beacon of hope, signaling that my journey is about to take a new and exciting turn. I can hardly wait to delve deep into the earth, seeking treasure and adventure in equal measure.

Can you marry villagers in Fields of Mistria?

Fields of Mistria Walkthrough Guide

As a passionate gamer with a soft spot for love stories, I’ve got some exciting news for you! Dive into the captivating world of Fields of Mistria and meet twelve potential romantic interests. However, only ten out of the twelve charming characters can be courted in our Early Access phase. So, prepare to explore their unique personalities, build relationships, and maybe even find your one true love within this enchanting game!

  • Adeline
  • Balor
  • Celine
  • Eiland
  • Hayden
  • Juniper
  • March
  • Reina
  • Ryis
  • Valen

In my gaming world, I’ve come across the last pair of characters who could potentially steal my heart, but they’re keeping a low profile. On the Steam page for Fields of Mistria, all I see are blurred portraits with mysterious question marks. I can hardly wait to uncover their identities!

In the Early Access version of Fields of Mistria, you can’t progress romantic relationships as the level of friendship required is beyond what you can achieve. The developers have enabled advancing friendships up to the fourth heart, but there are a total of ten hearts to collect.

How to unlock the bathhouse

Fields of Mistria Walkthrough Guide

To enjoy a complimentary five baths at the bathhouse and enter it, make your way to the town’s notice board. Choose the ‘Freshness Boosting Potion’ quest there.

To complete this task, gather a single lilac bloom for Juniper, it’s located near the chicken statue close to Hayden’s farm.

After handing the lilac to Juniper, you’ll encounter an unusual potion trial, followed by a complimentary healing bath. As a token of appreciation, Juniper will offer additional free baths to compensate for your effort, despite her not achieving the desired outcome from the potion test.

How to repair the bridge

Fields of Mistria Walkthrough Guide

In the initial scene, you’ll see that the bridge leading out of Mistria is severely damaged – more like shattered into several large chunks and scattered smaller pieces. This unfortunate state has made it challenging for traders to access the town, and the broken entrance certainly doesn’t invite a warm welcome.

As your game progresses, Adeline will eventually extend an invitation to you, asking you to meet her near a bridge. Make your way towards the right side of Mistria, where you’ll participate in a brief scene with the locals. They will then ask for your assistance in collecting materials to rebuild the bridge and return it to its original splendor.

As an enthusiast, I’ll be gathering 60 pieces of wood and 60 stones using my trusty tools. I should deposit these into the collection box near the broken bridge until I’ve amassed a sufficient stockpile of both.

After completing that task, have a conversation with Adeline. This interaction will initiate a scene where the bridge is ultimately fixed, and from then on, a vibrant Saturday market will spring up each weekend, attracting merchants to our town.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m currently enjoying Fields of Mistria exclusively through Steam. But here’s the exciting part – this captivating game is also compatible with the Steam Deck, expanding my gaming possibilities!

Is Fields of Mistria coming to Switch?

At the moment, developers from NPC Studio have indicated that they might consider other platform releases at some point in the future; however, for now, their focus remains solely on expanding their game through a Steam release only.

Does Fields of Mistria have controller support?

Absolutely! Mistria: Fields indeed offers controller support. However, playing with keyboard and mouse has been a smooth experience for me, without encountering any restrictions. The control setup feels fluid and I haven’t felt the urge to change to a controller yet.

With your newfound power and initial magic at hand, let’s give the mine another go! Navigate your way towards level 20, and you’ll stumble upon an odd chamber featuring a tablet and a sealed door, halting your progress deeper within the mine.

As an avid player, I found myself being gently guided through this part of the game. I decided to pay a visit to the enthusiastic Eiland, who was more than happy to fill me in on all the details. Before I knew it, we were headed together to have a chat with Juniper.

Juniper has the capacity to decipher the text displayed on the tablet, guiding you on the offerings required to pass through the door.

You’ll need the following items:

  • A Lantern Moth
  • A Ruby
  • A Stone Loach
  • An Upper Mines Mushroom

All of these can be found in the first 20 floors of the mine (also known as The Upper Mines”.

As an old miner with a lifetime of experience delving into the depths of the earth, I’ve encountered many perils and treasures along the way. But none quite like the Tide Caverns – a mystical part of the mine that’s said to hold secrets untold. To gain access to this enigmatic region, spanning from floor 21 to floor 40, I’ve been tasked with a peculiar errand:

Every twenty floors, you’ll encounter a similar door, and upon opening it, you’ll receive a fresh magic incantation.
