NAVI Takes the W in the First Ever EWC CS2 Championship

As a dedicated esports enthusiast who has witnessed countless matches and tournaments, I must say, hats off to NAVI for their triumphant win at the Esports World Cup: Counter-Strike 2! It’s not often that underdog stories turn into fairy tales, but this one certainly did.

Hearty congratulations to NAVI, the victorious first-timers at the Esports World Cup: Counter-Strike 2! Despite not being tipped as front-runners, they seized the championship through strategic game plans and substantial efforts from each team member.

As the reigning EWC CS2 champs, they have proven they are a top contender in CS2 moving forward!

How NAVI won the Esports World Cup Counter-Strike 2 Champions

Approaching the Esports World Cup with Counter-Strike 2, NAVI has been under intense criticism, despite securing a Major victory earlier in the year. Some spectators and experts have even advocated for lineup alterations.

Despite clinching victory at the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, their success was narrow, as they ended up losing more rounds than they won in the tournament. Following this close call, Navi struggled with consecutive subpar performances at IEM Dallas 2024 and the BLAST Premiere: Spring Final.

In essence, the EWC CS2 wasn’t just another competition; it was an opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities of this team. And indeed, they showcased their talent brilliantly.

At the Esports World Cup, the team arrived with a strong, commanding presence. In the playoffs, they eliminated two heavy favorites, FaZe and MOUZ, securing their spot in the Grand Finals. There, they were scheduled to go head-to-head against G2, a team previously led by NAVI’s IGL Aleksib.

Zródlo: EWC

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but recount the thrilling match we just witnessed! Initially, it was G2 who snatched the first map Ancient in an exhilarating overtime, thanks to some heroic plays from Monesy. However, NAVI responded with a fierce comeback, sweeping G2 on both Nuke and Inferno. What a rollercoaster ride!

It’s plausible that Aleksib’s exceptional strategic decisions during the Grand Finals significantly contributed to their victory. Given his past experience as a G2 player, he appeared to possess a keen instinct for anticipating G2’s moves.

Furthermore, each team member from NAVI showed remarkable performance. Not a sole player was solely responsible for the kills throughout this series; instead, all players contributed significantly to the victories.

As a gamer, I, Aleksib, keep my winning streak alive against my old squad, G2. Seven matches straight, no losses yet. The adrenaline rush never fades!

EWC CS2 Global Finals MVP and earnings

In a thrilling turn of events, NAVI clinched the top spot and pocketed a whopping $400,000. Moreover, they became the inaugural champions of the Esports World Cup CS2, etching their name into the annals of Esports history.

Although they didn’t win, G2’s NiKo still received the MVP accolade. His performance during G2’s championship journey was remarkable and overwhelming, earning him both the MVP title and a $50,000 cash reward.

What’s next for NAVI and CS2?

After their victory, NAVI has undeniably secured a spot among the top five teams in CS2, effectively quieting any skepticism with an emphatic demonstration of their skills.

Upcoming events find both NAVI and G2 participating, starting next week with BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2024. They’ll also face off at IEM Cologne 2024 in August, followed by the commencement of ESL Pro League: Season 20 in September.
