As a seasoned player with countless hours spent in various virtual worlds, I must say that Fields of Mistria has truly captured my heart. This game is unlike any other I’ve played, offering a unique blend of farming, romance, and community building.
On August 5, 2024, the game titled “Fields of Mistria” was launched in its Early Access stage. Similar to Stardew Valley, players can immerse themselves in cultivating their own farm within Fields of Mistria. However, this game offers a unique twist: the presence of magic is a significant element here. This guide for playing Fields of Mistria will show you how to enhance your tools and repair the rundown areas in town that require attention.
At the outset of the game, you discover a distressed town named Mistria that’s in dire need of aid. Among the wreckage lies a farm brimming with untapped potential, which is up for grabs to any daring adventurer – including you! Although your primary duty will be managing the farm, as a player, you’ll also play a crucial role in rejuvenating the town following a devastating earthquake. To add an extra layer of excitement, mysterious magical phenomena will occasionally spice up your daily routine.
Fields of Mistria Walkthrough – How to unlock everything and where to start
Trailer, release date, platforms
The exact launch date for Fields of Mistria hasn’t been announced just yet. According to its Early Access info on Steam, we can expect it to be in Early Access for approximately a year, with frequent content updates throughout this period.
Based on this information, there’s a good chance that we might experience the complete launch of Fields of Mistria as early as August 2025.
Currently, you can play Fields of Mistria exclusively through Steam. Yet, it’s worth noting that this game is also compatible with the Steam Deck.
Is Fields of Mistria coming to Switch?
At the moment, NPC Studio developers are not planning to extend beyond a Steam release as they intend to assess possible ports at a later stage.
Does Fields of Mistria have controller support?
Absolutely! Mistria’s Fields indeed offers controller compatibility. However, I’ve found that playing with a keyboard and mouse works quite well without any restrictions. The control system isn’t cumbersome, so I haven’t felt compelled to change over to a controller yet.
In short, should you prefer using a controller for ease or convenience, take heart! The game Fields of Mistria is compatible with Xbox controllers, USB-connected DualShock controllers, as well as the DualSense controllers.
Best perks to get first in Fields of Mistria
The skill perks in Fields of Mistria are split into nine categories:
- Archaeology
- Blacksmithing
- Combat
- Cooking
- Farming
- Fishing
- Mining
- Ranching
- Woodcrafting
In the mystical land of Mistria, you enhance your abilities by accomplishing tasks that align with each skill. For instance, enhancing your farming talent comes from caring for crops. Although elevating your skill level doesn’t provide instant advantages, it grants access to additional recipes (and other rewards later on). As you engage in various activities, you accumulate Essence, a valuable currency that can be spent on skill enhancements, which are long-term boosts for your abilities.
The skill level is displayed in the bottom-left area of the main menu by default. By clicking there, you’ll get to view a comprehensive progress chart for all nine skill areas.
In the game Fields of Mistria (Early Access), when you advance to Levels 15 and 30 in a particular skill, you become eligible to purchase a set of perks using the Essence you’ve accumulated. Notably, Level 30 is the highest level for skills in this version.
In certain creative fields, you need to reach a certain proficiency threshold to access particular projects or techniques. For instance, achieving levels 15 and 30 in culinary art will grant you access to superior cooking facilities at the Carpenter’s Shop, where you can purchase them.
At Level 1, 3, and 6, you’ll encounter a selection of four skills in each category for you to pick. Here are some top advantages in the realm of Mistria particularly beneficial for novice players at Level 1:
- Archaeology – Sunken Secrets (Dive spots can now contain Sunken Artifacts.)
- Blacksmithing – Fortified Blacksmithing (Crafting Armor will occasionally result in a bonus Fortified Infusion, which grants you an additional +4 HP when worn.)
- Combat – True Strike (Your Attacks will occasionally become Critical, doing double damage in the Mines.)
- Cooking – Restorative Cooking (Cooking a dish will occasionally result in a bonus Restorative Infusion, which grants an HP & Stamina Regen buff when consumed.)
- Farming – A Day Well Spent (Going to bed with zero stamina gives a stamina boost the next day.)
- Fishing – Aquatic Antiquities (Aquatic Artifacts can sometimes be fished up.
- Mining – Treasure Hunter (Treasure Floors will sometimes appear in the Mines.)
- Ranching – Close Bond (Animals that have been Pet and Fed for the day will receive an extra Heart Point increase.)
- Woodcrafting – Forager (Chopping down a Tree will occasionally drop a seasonally appropriate Forageable.)
On the third day of the game, you’ll be able to unlock special benefits related to skills if you talk to the dragon sanctuary located close to your home.
How to expand your backpack
Initially, when you begin playing, you might find it frustrating that your inventory only has a set amount of spaces for items.
At the General Store, you have the option to acquire an item enlargement, specifically a bag expansion. To locate it, navigate towards the tools expansions segment. This enlargement costs 1000 Tessarae and doubles your inventory spaces. Additionally, it will introduce a new tab labeled “B” to your hotbar.
Upon wrapping up the mission for enhancing the General Store, you’ll gain the opportunity to acquire an additional improvement using 2000 Tessarae. This update will also incorporate a new tab labeled as “C” into your quick access bar.
At present, it appears that these are the only bag expansions we have – though I anticipate additional ones might emerge as updates roll out throughout the upcoming year. For now, think about constructing some storage containers to maintain a tidy organization of your farming supplies and household items.
How to open the mines
You’ll get a letter from Eiland titled “Reopening the Mines.” He wants you to meet him and Errol at the museum to chat. Errol has doubts because he’s heard strange noises coming from the mines, but he’s open to reopening them if Mistria’s renown reaches the Stone Rank.
To increase your town rank, you can do the following tasks:
- Complete villager requests.
- Donate items you find to the museum.
- Work on your farm (plant and harvest crops, etc.).
Upon attaining the Stone Rank, you will be instructed to assemble at the Mine’s entrance, a location situated near the museum, where Errol and Eiland await your arrival.
As an eager explorer, I’m thrilled to share that there’s a brief cinematic scene coming up, which marks the reopening of the long-abandoned mines! This exciting event grants me access to delve into these rich veins and uncover their hidden treasures. Can’t wait to see what lies beneath!

Can you marry villagers in Fields of Mistria?
As a fellow romantic, I’ve got some exciting news for you! Dive into the world of Fields of Mistria and meet twelve enchanting individuals who could potentially become more than just friends. However, please note that only ten out of the twelve romantic interests are accessible during the Early Access phase of the game. Here’s to hoping your heart finds its match among these captivating characters!
- Adeline
- Balor
- Celine
- Eiland
- Hayden
- Juniper
- March
- Reina
- Ryis
- Valen
In the game Fields of Mistria on Steam, the identities of the last two romantic options are yet to be disclosed. At present, their portraits are covered with a blackout and marked with question marks.
In the Early Access version of Fields of Mistria, you can’t progress relationships far enough for romantic encounters as developers only permit friendship advancement up to the fourth heart level out of a total of ten.
How to unlock the bathhouse
To enjoy a complimentary five baths at the bathhouse and enter the premises, make your way to the town noticeboard, then pick the quest titled “Stinky Stamina Elixir.”
To complete this task, please retrieve a single lilac flower for Juniper. You can locate it near the chicken statue situated next to Hayden’s farm.
After handing the lilac to Juniper, you’ll encounter an unusual test involving a potion. In return for your efforts, Juniper will compensate you by offering a few free baths as goodwill, despite not achieving the desired outcomes.
How to repair the bridge
As you dive into the game, you’ll immediately spot the shattered bridge leading out of Mistria – more like a puzzle than a passageway, really. It’s in three massive chunks with smaller pieces scattered about, making it quite the sight! This unfortunate state has left merchants struggling to reach the town and, let’s be honest, it’s not exactly a warm welcome for newcomers.
As you carry on playing, Adeline will eventually extend an invitation to meet her by the bridge via letter. Make your way towards Mistria’s right side, and there, you’ll participate in a brief cutscene with the locals. They’ll ask for your assistance in gathering necessary materials to rebuild the bridge, restoring it to its original grandeur.
To gather 60 pieces of wood and 60 stones, employ your tools. Deposit them in the storage bin near the damaged bridge as you accumulate enough of each item.
After completing your task, have a conversation with Adeline. This interaction will initiate a scene where the bridge is finally fixed, leading to a weekly Saturday market in town. As more merchants arrive, the market will become available each weekend.
