Last February, a phrase from the Spanish reality show Temptation Island – “Montoya, por favor!” – became a viral sensation. Now, the show has produced another memorable moment – again involving someone running on the beach – that’s quickly gaining popularity.
If you’re not familiar with it, La Isla de las Tentaciones is the Spanish version of Temptation Island. The show follows unmarried couples who go to a tropical island, and their relationships are challenged by singles.
While the show first started in the US, the Spanish version is known for its most iconic moment: when contestant José Carlos Montoya famously lost his composure on the beach after seeing footage of his girlfriend, Anita Williams, with another competitor, Manuel.

In a clip that’s quickly spreading online, Gilbert is watching a video on a tablet during a live episode of the show. He leans in as the video reveals his girlfriend, Claudia, kissing and becoming intimate with another contestant.
A dramatic moment unfolded on “Temptation Island Spain” when a contestant discovered his girlfriend was unfaithful, leading to an emotional exit. Viewers are comparing the situation to a similar one involving Montoya from a previous season.

At first, he doesn’t say anything, but he quickly becomes overwhelmed with emotion and throws the tablet onto the beach. Similar to what happened with Montoya, the show’s host, Sandra Barneda, tries to calm him down, saying, “Come here.”
However, her attempts to intervene are ignored as a clearly upset Gilbert rushes across the beach to the villa to confront Claudia. Similar to the previous argument with Montoya, a heated shouting match erupts, during which Gilbert tells Claudia to “go fk yourself.”
Similar to the American show, “La Isla de las Tentaciones” tests couples by having them live separately in villas with attractive singles who attempt to lure them into infidelity.
The participants then see clips of how their partners have been acting. As this recent popular moment shows, the show continues to create the intense, unpredictable drama that keeps people watching.
The situation has generated a lot of talk, with people drawing parallels between Gilbert’s actions and those of Montoya. One person commented, “Montoya can finally relax – Gilbert is carrying the torch now,” while another joked that they’ve been inspired to start watching the Spanish version of Temptation Island.

Another contestant on Temptation Island Spain reportedly left the show after witnessing his girlfriend kiss someone else, leading to comparisons to a past dramatic exit.
Although the new series shares similarities with the original movie, many viewers feel it doesn’t measure up. One Reddit user commented, “You can’t recreate magic,” and another agreed, saying it wasn’t even in the same league.
They described Montoya flying into a jealous fury, ripping his shirt, and running along a Dominican beach as a thunderstorm rolled in.
Man, the host was seriously losing it, yelling ‘Montoya, please!’ like he was begging him to think things through. Meanwhile, his girlfriend was going viral – everyone in Spain, heck, the whole world, was watching! It was a total disaster, honestly.
This is… unusual. A small, awkward gathering with some trouble thrown in? No dramatic outbursts, not even a question shouted into the emptiness? It’s okay, I guess… but it lacks the flair and excitement of what I’d expect.
